We were soggy before this started about 1:00 AM. It is still pouring rain, thunder and lightning also. I'm starting to wonder if quickmud is a thing? 🤔

Yes, quickmud is a thing. Any over saturated soil can do it. The only time I've fallen in quicksand was plain old mountain mud in the Oregon Blue Mountains. Looked like solid ground with moss on it. Only possible there for the conditions for it in spring when the snow has just melted

Coffee is ready. I’ll be out to care for sheep in a bit when it gets light. Church this morning, I teach the kids class. Ages 3 to 12, in one classroom. If we run out of story before we run out of time, I show them pictures of my sheep, dogs or whatever. Making paper airplanes is a big hit also. Church ladies act like I’ve been thrown in the lions den, nobody wants the class. The lady I rescued had been teaching the class for 2 years, the one before that, several years also. I’m trying to convince people to rotate every 3 months so nobody gets burned out. End of March is first quarter. So far no takers.

How is everyone doing on the east and south east? Flooding should be all over the news.

people think they can change the world without consequences... stuff will always happen, but IMO in recent times people are doing way too many things that will make weather events even worse and we are reaping what has been sown.
