Hey you can’t blame Texas for that! They said New Mexico, Arizona and El Paso! El Paso is at the farthest point of Texas kinda between Mexico and New Mexico. That’s a teeny tiny piece of Texas real estate. Blame Arizona and New Mexico for this, obviously they contributed a larger portion of the dirty rain! Plus be glad it came down as wet rain instead of dust to breathe in.
In my area, we get dust all the way from the Saharan Desert, it makes the air murky looking and people with respiratory issues are warned to stay inside. Rain would at least wash the air clean.

Weather is weird, isn’t it,

we had a very light dusting which barely registered even on the driveway. sunny and cold this morning, but i think the forecast is for today to get nearly 40F with chances of snow later. tomorrow chances of nearly 50F and Monday chances of nearly 60F, Tuesday 55F. all sunshine days too. we're going to freak out from all this UFO activity...

Very wet winter, still cleaning up from the ice storm. Cutting what's big enough for fire wood and piling up branches for when it dries up enough to run the tractor with my new wood chipper.

Hubs and I went to Lowes. He got lumber and I got dirt. Its so expensive and contains so much bark. Oh well. Even tho I planted my gladiolas deep (like three inches) nearly three years ago, many of them have migrated upwards and their crowns are showing. I'm not digging them down again, so I put a thin layer of dirt over top.

I was able to get son to help me today. Praise the Lord!! I moved some large lilies cus they got sun bleached when they bloomed, over to a north facing side. I also moved two chartreuse barberries to a shadier spot by the north part of the house. They simply don't like the full western sun. Replanted some smaller lilies into a new spot. Moved some of the foundation plants I had in pots on the back side of the house, into the front west bed. I'm going with less fussy this year.

I couldn't stand the lack of color, so I bought a 4 pack of pansies and two primroses, and planted a hanging long planter on my deck rail. Now I can see color. Daffodils are peeking thru, up and down the busy main drag below us. Thousands have naturalized along the banks of that two lane road.
