I told my neighbor that I'm leaving mud puddle gator right where its at, to see what reactions, I get out of others 😂 But it's now game on... my time and choosing 🤣 He's obviously done this before. The plastic gator has at least one .22 hole in it's head.

What you guys think?

And it ain't even summer yet 🙄

I killed first water moccasin this morning. Not big, only about 2 foot long. It was out sun tanning on the gravel. It was a mean little bugger, it hit the snow shovel a good dozen times, before I was able to pin it's head and slice it off. I buried the head and threw the body over the fence row, birds or another wild animal will eat it.

Then I saw the neighbors grand daughter out the window walking around, right about where I killed the cotton mouth. I think she's 6 or 7. She likes to come over and talk to the animals, which she knows she is welcome to anytime. I went out and her mom was watching her, I just didn't see her from the window, phew 👍. I told her mom that I just killed a cotton mouth right over there. She said Thank God. All I can say is Almighty has his way of looking after children, Thank You Almighty ❤️

BTW... Snakes are ok with me, just not ones with triangle heads. If I have my way, triangle head equals dead. Don't want anyone getting bit by one of those. Best I can tell by internet searching there are around 50 different types of snakes here in southern IL, 4 of which are poisonous.

Stay safe everyone 🐍

Yeh, I'm not a snake friendly person. The rat snakes here are apparently well fed! Huge things! Now if they'd stay away from chicken coops, I'd leave them alone. But last two didn't read the message and lost their heads. These feral cats seem to have made a tremendous difference...less mice keeps snakes further and they don't find out there are nests for eggs. :idunno works for me! Hope it continues.

We have rattlers, copperhead and some mocassin in this area. Fortunately they prefer the woods and waterways a little further from my farm...house and barns. Where there's less activity. Hope it stays that way.

That's kind of the issue here... Even though we are up on a hill, there's water water everywhere.

I have got to redirect direct water that runs off the roofs around here better. I think I néed to rent a trencher.

Only thing Ive ever seen here is the little garter snakes. Rubber boas are supposed to be a possibility. We don't have venomous snakes on this side of the Cascades. Grew up on the other side. Saw plenty of garters there as well. Rattlers were a problem.

I wish I could sow seeds outside. It's supposed to drop back down to the 40s this weekend 😩
Hubby says possible snow flurries next week 😭
That time of year... but yes... super frustrating!

:hugs

Watching snow fall on my garden...
Can you see dirt yet?

Snow is over 2 feet still... 4 feet in some spots.

Blasted stuff isn't melting as fast as I wish... never does.

Snow is melted in town...AND I CAN'T FIND MY SUMMER TIRES!! :rant :barnie

I wonder when I will learn to put them exactly where I can find them??

Snow is still too deep to see the tires... so... where are they???? To the left of the door? To the right? By the well cover? :he

Talking of deep snow... the bobcat was GREAT, and dug through the 3-ish feet of snow still around the church to make a path.
