Afternoon all! My first cat! She was under our neighbor’s tree, and we get to keep her. I’m excited if you couldn’t tell.

Hubby spent the day fudging on the plumbing at my dad's camp. Apparently, the hot water valve on the shower is needing to be replaced. So... several hours of driving, plus fudging with the plumbing, still need to go back tomorrow. If I heard correctly, he'll need to sweat some joint(s) to get it completed.

Awesome supper tonight: Tequila lime rub BBQ salmon, mashed potatoes, corn on cob and fresh picked green beans.

Plumbing job done w/o having to rip out wall or sweat any joints. Praise God! cool breeze coming off the lake, but as soon as we got up to the road, the blistering heat kicked in. Always an amusement: sitting on the shore, there is a cool breeze, lots of waves on the lake. Too windy for kayaking, and plenty cool just sitting, so... i didn't want to go swimming, even though it's a hot day... if you are NOT at the lake!

I BOUGHT a flat of tomatoes today! Horrors! I have some green beans, shelled out green beans, squash and I want to can some soup. Problem; the few tomatoes I have are still green. So we bought some. I’ll can tomorrow. Think I’ll take some purple hull peas and cream corn out of the freezer and add to the soup. Muttering……… I actually bought tomatoes……… my garden sucks this year…..

My garden is the most pathetic garden I've ever grown.

Coffee is ready. Another 99F hot humid day here. I’ll be inside canning today. In my garden I have yellow squash, zucchini, green beans and a few tomatoes that aren’t doing much. I usually have a whole lot more but winter was freakishly cold in February at -6 degrees! Then it started raining for months without stopping. When it finally did stop, it got scorching hot. Oh well. Phooey!
