Mornin Y'All! I don't think we will be sitting on the porch while having coffee this AM seeing how it's only 30 here but inside is plenty warm enough with places to rest. That is if you don't mind getting kisses, wet noses and wagging tails along with dog hair.
Oh good morning! this time of year we sit by the fire,
We all love the dogs, and home isnt home without a bit of pet hair
Tony dog gets up with me every morning and sits by me with his antler, he hust lays with it and goes back to sleep, until it is BK time

Waaaaaaay back in the day we didn't have artificial intelligence to help with waking the kids up. But - I had a secret weapon in the form of a Yellow Nape Parrot! He heard me call out to my son to get up so often that he started doing it for me. "DS - get up - right now!" "DS - it's time!" "Right now!"

Having a parrot telling you to get out of bed was so hilarious that DS couldn't ignore him for long. Sometimes I miss that bird, lol.

I homeschooled my kids, and the rule was at after dinner, everyone went in and cleaned up their room, when that was done we could watch a movie (in winter) or go run & play outside. At 8 it was who ever needed a shower got one and everyone got ready for bed. you can read books until 9.
In the mornings, I would wake everyone up at 6:30. School started at 8, if you want to eat BK you need to have your bed made and dress/ready for school. AND if you didnt manage you time well you just might miss breakfast.
My son never missed breakfast :love the girls didnt either but came very close a few time

We may have to implement that. We home school and they are very driven by breakfast. They usually want their cereal as soon as the sleep gets out of their eyes.

The bird was awesome!

He would also say: Fire, fire - save the bird!

He'd sing Old McDonald had a fart...I think he mispronounced "farm" on purpose.

I tried forever to teach him to say "cock a doodle doo" and he never did. But he'd crow exactly like a rooster.

And, he spent hours every day saying "good bird" and "don't forget to feed the bird."
