if the infestation in your area is bad enough you could probably get a net positive return because of the nutrients you are collecting in the bins that can go into the compost (or be buried right in the gardens). also perhaps once dead and dried they could be used a chicken feed? i have no ideas if chickens would eat them or not, but i think they would as it seems they'll eat about anything...

from reading along it looks that the lures are reasonably priced. i'd never gotten into this bad enough that i looked up the price. i pick them off by hand here and usually the damage is not too bad, but some seasons are worse than others.
Don't need to dry them for chickens. Pop em in the freezer overnight and give them to the little velocirapters next day (beetles wont escape). My chickens loved them. Occasionally some shiny beetle shell showed up in the eggshell

Mom has a few shows she watches every year (mostly in the winter when it gets harder for us to get out reliably and for traditional reasons too :) ).
Jan. 2021 we watched the whole MASH series including the Mash movie, I remember when the movie came to the dive-in

Yes, in winter when it gets dark at 4pm, I have a set of books I got that a friend, Patrice Lewis published I plan on reading. https://www.amazon.com/stores/Patri...ramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true

She writes for WND, Lehman's, Grit, Backyard Poultry and other Ogden publications. She has a blog thats fun to read.
I am currently re-reading the whole Little House set I am on book #4 then I have Spencer's Mountain and The Homecoming to read next pulse my Bible studies.

then - if the kombucha is to tart, I dissolve 2 cups of raw sugar and

When it is dissolved, I mix it in the kombucha big jug and mix it in well

Then I fill 2 one gallon jugs and put the scoby in a jar with kombucha poured over it, I sprinkle about a tsb. of sugar in it and put a plastic canning jar lid on it --- I cap the jugs and put it all in the fridge,,,, some people and I have done this,,, just leave the scoby and kombucha in the BIG jug and if tart feed it sugar and drink it from the big jug, when it get below 1/2 make more tea and mix it in,, then you dont need to refrigerate it-- they call it Continuous brewing

I haven't done anything to my kombucha attempt, just popped the lid and smelled/looked. Still has 8 out of 14 days left to primary ferment.

Big ole vacuum sealed rump roast - I believe farmbabe is gonna make BBQ pulled beef - IDK... 🤷‍♂️

How big (ounces) was the tea for your primary ferment?

Two cups of sugar? My body may go into convulsions 😳 😂

8x16 chicken house work in progress. Inside the front wall is 8', the back wall is 7', which is a 9° angle roof. Going kind of slow, i'm only one man using hand tools, because is far away from a power source.

But I just finished framing, that means I'm done pounding 2x4 sticks together. All but the pressure treated 2x6 deck, plywood and 2x4 sill plates, was cut with my sawmill. Should last for the rest of my lifetime and then some.

Hefier daisy still my favorite head of cattle. Her teets are growing and a little bit of a bag starting to develop. Oreo is a cow, so hard to tell with her. But Bessey's bag most definitely forming. I believe all three of them are sitting on the nest. All cattle are looking good, nice shiny coats is a good indicator.

Bad picture of romeo, but he's coming along well. They don't stay little for very long, do they?

A couple up the road from us has probably 400 head of beef master cattle. There are several newly born calves in the pasture. The baby calves are so tiny and "cute". Farmbabe makes me stop so she can look at the baby calves. She knows that we are working on belted galloways, but I have to agree with her those beef master calves are cute
