have resigned myself to no Christmas tree this year.
I'm home alone, kids all grown, DGD is 19. So I don't up a tree! Instead, I have a small, glittery, metal swirly one I set out. Maybe 2' and 2#. works for me. Sad that I have a lot of lovely, unique decorations that no one wants....the kids that is. One day I'll donate but, waiting to see if DGD is interested in next few years, first.

Our eldest is 46 and my youngest is 34,
If we wernt moving I would put up lights outside and a tree. :thI still might 🙃I
have used a small one for the last 3 years. Our old dog never messed with the tree, but Ziva will and now that we have Tony, I know he will thing the ordainments are toys and most likely pee on the tree-
- its not worth the battle:gig

I used to love holiday decorating. Had quite the stash at the time of the divorce. Some of the important stuff like ceramics painted by my grandmother have already been passed onto the kids.

The current wife and I individually brought antique ornaments to the marriage. Because of the clowder, we are reluctant to risk destruction. Lol

I hate decorating for Christmas! Lol we put up a tree only because the kids are young but it only gets lights and a star. I can't put money into something so materialistic when we have basics to stock up on. Now don't hear this as the kids don't get a good Christmas, oh they do, filled with love, hugs, some presents and Jesus.

I love making homemade ones, for ever,,,, I have always had a gift box, in a manger, it has many years been the only decoration, and the "other guy" has never had a place in our home, santa.
and inside the box holds the answer to many years of
" What gift can you give Jesus this year?"

My kids know, that it truly isn't Jesus's real BD, and that I am pretty sure He wont mind if you get a gift on the day.
They know there is a budget. They also know it is a wonderful time to tell others about the Saving Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ. To (365) see the world as He does, to treat other as He did, no Bible thumping, but to be known by our love.
No one opens a gift until we go before the Lord.

One year, one of the grandkid, he was 2yr old, said, shoes,,, "I would give him shoes"
I think because in do many story books it shows Him not wearing any??? but its just a guess

But, everyone does things in their own way and we all are different,
