I'm home alone, kids all grown, DGD is 19. So I don't up a tree! Instead, I have a small, glittery, metal swirly one I set out. Maybe 2' and 2#. works for me. Sad that I have a lot of lovely, unique decorations that no one wants....the kids that is. One day I'll donate but, waiting to see if DGD is interested in next few years, first.have resigned myself to no Christmas tree this year.

I used to love holiday decorating. Had quite the stash at the time of the divorce. Some of the important stuff like ceramics painted by my grandmother have already been passed onto the kids.I'm home alone, kids all grown, DGD is 19. So I don't up a tree! The current wife and I individually brought antique ornaments to the marriage. Because of the clowder, we are reluctant to risk destruction. Lol
The collective noun for the feline beastiesWhats a clowder??
I love making homemade ones, for ever,,,, I have always had a gift box, in a manger, it has many years been the only decoration, and the "other guy" has never had a place in our home, santa.I hate decorating for Christmas! Lol we put up a tree only because the kids are young but it only gets lights and a star. I can't put money into something so materialistic when we have basics to stock up on. Now don't hear this as the kids don't get a good Christmas, oh they do, filled with love, hugs, some presents and Jesus.
