FIRE! Fire on my road today. A tractor caught on fire, caught the field on fire. Field surrounded by forest, that come right up against my house. I loaded a few valuables in the truck, couple changes of clothes. Have trailer hitched, backed up to chute for loading sheep. Plan was to load as many as I could, grab dogs and make a run for it. Leaving truck and trailer there tonight and tomorrow.

And I have jury duty tomorrow.

It’s been a day.

Fire is out, a few hot spots somebody is watching. Close call, less than a mile away. Truck and trailer still backed to loading chute, gonna leave it there tonight.

Thank y’all for the prayers!
Oh Thank You Lord!
Did you hose down the ground around your house out as far as needed? If there are embers and the wind picks up it can take off fast—
AND DH said rake and pull all dry grass, brush etc.. away from the house— move things embers can land on/ get into—

We kegged up our 2nd batch of kombucha and started our 3rd batch, 5 gallons. Mrs SCOBY has grown from a baby SCOBY into a big momma SCOBY.

Farmbabe added 3 tablespoons of natural blackberry flavoring to the 5 kegged gallons, it tasted pretty good. I have it on 40 PSI CO/2 with a carbonation stone. It should be ready in a couple of days depending how much I shake the keg. I also painted the inside of the keezer, so the paint needs time to dry also.

Thinking as long as I got the homemade keezer running again. I might as well make a keg of rootbeer also. I can have 3 kegs in the keezer at a time.

I think Mrs SCOBY needs to go into the refrigerator after she's done fermenting the second 5 gallon batch. I'll probably put her in a gallon sized ziplock baggie for safe keeping.

Kombucha on tap in a couple of days, who knew?

Jesus is Lord and Christ 🙏❤️🇺🇸

Everything is next to the coffee pot and it's ready to go so GO AHEAD and make a cup then sit on patio and enjoy quiet. I still have a few HOMEMADE cupcakes left from the other day to go with that coffee or if you prefer I also have some store bought CHOCOLATE cupcakes remaining . Nope, not all chocolate there is a couple white ones there too for whoever doesn't want or like chocolate. We will need to be quiet though seeing how FH is still in bed.
I didn't really do anything yesterday I was just so exhausted so going to have to make up for it today but I did get started on getting the house back together though so at least it's a start.

No I didn’t hose down around the house. My house sits about 16’ from the fence line, right next to tall pines and thick forest. If the fire had got in the forest, it would have been hard to save my house.

On my second cup of coffee, then I’m gonna move the truck and trailer, do chores and unload truck.
