We finally got out our Xmas decorations. Hubs didn't want to at all, but son helped so it went better. I gave alot of items away on the local FB Battle Ground Give and Receive page. I have more stuff so I'll take it to a thrift store. Kinda late for them tho, so I feel bad.

Tuna the kitty immediately climbed up the artificial xmas tree yesterday. Hubs was upset, but son and I were laughing. I got hubs calmed down, showed him some of the funny pictures we had taken, and now he's good with it. He did put a kettle bell on the base, so that it doesn't topple over.

Feed chores done earlier. I had coffee and began whipping up pie filling from the sweet potatoes I cooked yesterday for these pies :drool Smells so good in here. I can hardly wait. Once baked, I'll head to town to pick up feed. They'll be cooled by time I return 😁 lunch time !!

Then outside for whatever I can accomplish.

That's a beautiful garden! I'd love mine to look that good 😁 I always seem to lose the neatness. Partly because of "time" and size. Hoping to do better.

I still have a job and the seasonal work comes at the same time as the seasonal garden planting & establishing. 🫤 Looking at ways to improve that and that I can tolerate here. One day, someday 🤣

Strange how the cold weather just ramps up our garden thoughts and plans. I have boxes of seed at my feet right now. Plus catalogues that show I have all I need! Willpower.

How do you use your wormwood? I'm using as a combo with other things for organic parasite help
for my goats. Comfrey here, too -- expanding that patch. I plant things for the chickens. Herbs & seed bearing plants.

I dry the wormwood and give it fresh to the chickens. Its not their favorite but they do end up eating it. I only toss out enough for all of them not a lot but just enough.
I need to find more wood chips for my pathways. the man down the road didnt use his sawmill this year.
I do give the flock comfrey and other herbs.
well, veg in the story is so expansive, I'll do what I can next spring. I need a new watering system. my soaker hoses are 4yr old and are toast.

the rain started Saturday and is still going , the water on the roads is deep, the rivers are full, it is even ankle deep in the yard.

Saturday the power went out for 12 hours 8-8.
It went out over night last night.
We had doc appointments all day yesterday and the traffic was just packed and the rain made it hard to see driving.
looks like more to come
