Up at 5:30 this morning. Been upstairs twice to remind DH to drink some juice because his blood glucose is dropping. Geeze, it would have been much easier if he'd stayed awake long enough to actually drink his juice the first time I told him. But NO he didn't listen to me th first time - necessitating another upstairs trek for me to wake him up - AGAIN! Grrrrrr!

I hired a dog trainer, and his first visit to our home was yesterday. I really learned from him, as hubs and I sat there listening. He engaged me to try some of the steps and I did. He asked hubs to try, and he declined.

Then we talked about the resource guarding by the 2.5 yr old cattle dog, Maverick. No, not the food bowl, but
1. me
2. the great outdoors
3. the chickens
4. the driveway

The trainer suggested something to help with the massive wind up and hysteria when one of us walks outside. I can do that! When reviewing the $120 per hour visit with hubs, he said he thought it was a waste of money cus the guy's idea about changing the behavior was wrong. Nothing will stop Maverick from going beserk when he's outside.

I about cried.

Check out Caesar? He has things on net for most every dog problem....many are video. Try searching some out. I can understand your need to retrain! That hourly rate is pretty steep, IMO. But I have no comparison shopping either ;) :idunno
