Typical winter day...cold, frosted start. A skim of ice on tubs, refill hay 🤷 touch too cold/wet for much else until it dries off. We're predicted to have a week of 50-60s starting tomorrow. Bring it! :clap

Problem with this off/on warm then frigid is that you think it's spring coming & garden can begin. Nope, not here because the cold is cold. Teaser not fair. Annoying, too....says me with little patience. Back to need to do, not want to do.🥴

I laugh at that pitiful looking mud you call soup! Haha!
I have POOP SOUP! Fall down in THAT and see if you can get up laughing!

Coffee is ready, on my second cup. I have a bodacious batch of poop soup waiting for me to slop through it to feed the sheep this morning.
On baby watch! Lambs due anytime! Today is sunshine, tomorrow more rain, then a week of sunshine!

So many things I could say... but all I'll say is don't fall down. Stay vertical and keep on farming.

We had to put straw down at the back door because between us and the dogs it was turning into a quagmire.

Some semi mud pits in the silkie courtyard where I walk a lot but I have step stones to help

I'm enjoying the temperatures, glad it's rain not snow. But... I am kinda looking for second winter, it's only the end of December after all :hide.

I found a couple tubs I forgot I had. About 4 gallons of pinto beans and 2.5 gallons of lentils. Gamma lids on tight so just sat there pretty neutral.

I know the beans would have to be soaked and pressure cooked or long simmered. Just not sure worth it.

My chickens love beans!

Slept in this morning....uh I should re-word that. I stayed in bed a little longer than usual - sleep was hard to find. Rough blood sugar night for DH - which actually means it was rough for me. He sleeps - I monitor. Coffee is awesome! Oh, and we discovered, through the process of elimination, that caffeine is now playing havoc with his blood sugar. Decaf for him from now on. He's devastated!
