Morning ALL!
I know Y'all are very familiar with chickens but I saw this and hoped it will help if anyone decided to have a mixed flock.
I do have to have give bad news- my fresh made pot of coffee is already gone so hopefully another member wakes up and has a fresh pot for Y'all.
Later this morning I'm going to a paint party- IT'S A CERAMICS PAINT PARTY so I'm very excited and yes once I get my projects painted I'll take pictures even though they may not be posted until tomorrow. I love going to these kinds of party seeing how they are on a farm which is more like a homestead but it's way out in the country (35 minutes to get there) and spotty cell signal so I won't be bothered by useless town stuff. I'm more at home in the country then living in a town or city and feel very relaxed when I'm there.

I have had all those breeds. I recommend the Barred Rocks for someone starting out. The 2 top hens in my little flock were pals to our Jack Russell terrier, going mouse nest hunting with her. I handled them often as chicks, so they would interact with us almost like puppies.

My Barred Rocks were good to give a few winter eggs while others shut down totally. I don't use lights, so volunteer layers 😊 friendly by nature.

It's hot tea this morning -- in the mood for that. Outside in short order to figure best way to pen 4 goats I want to go to auction. Light sprinkly rains going on 🫤 may be good -- or bad -- let you know later. 😂 Bottles warmed for the 3 kids, better get a move on before the days is gone. The penning part will be enough challenge for the week. 😵‍💫 these ones anyway.
