TX had some wild weather yesterday...news had pics of the dust storms, winds blowing tractor/trailers over...one after another 😱. An interstate shut down with massive car pileup from dust storms. Yikes!! Ya needed the rain that was East of ya.

Today the devil storm is sliding thru my area. Big winds & rains are forecast. I'm good without either!!

Drinking my morning brew and contemplating my day at home, waiting for a bad day. It may go into tomorrow, too 🥴😞

Good Sunday morning,
It is cold, I need some heat. I am going to attempt, again to get out to the garden later today. the wind here was horrible and the rain was thick.

we had a lot of wind yesterday and the power was out for most of the day. i don't really like using the propane fireplace (it's a PITA to light and it is not easily regulated and the flames give a lot of soot so if you try to warm up something in a tin can it gets covered with soot) but that is what it is for so i got it going and we needed a can to heat up some water so we had that can of chicken soup for breakfast and then Mom made her coffee from slightly chicken soup flavored water.

it normally does not really heat the house up that much when burning on the lowest setting i can dial in, but it has been pretty warm the past few days and we got the house up to 75F (i was too warm and wanted to turn it off but we didn't know when the juice was going to come back on and Mom wanted to knit so we left it going for the light). a bit later the lights came back on.

and then this morning the power went out again for a while.

by a lot of wind i mean wind that was strong enough to move a pretty heavy chunk (50ft or so) of black plastic edging from where i had it laying across the gravel pathway to about 30ft to the north. it actually looks like someone got drunk and came in the yard and decided to try to drag that with them back to the north road, but there's a fence there so i don't think that was what did happen - just looks like it...

i did use my battery backup towards the end of yesterday to run the refridgerator for a while but i forgot that if i don't want it to get drained that i need to unplug all the things that are plugged into it since they all may only chew up 20 watts total they're not really doing anything if i'm not running my computer so they should really be switched off anyways... 30 minutes was better than nothing.

...AND I have a huge Praise report,
Thanking the good, good Father
DH had a PET-PSMA scan— all cancer is undetectable.
He is in Remission 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
I thank all of you for your prayers.
He isn’t totally out of the woods so we will stay on the current naturopathic course and get PSA bloodwork every 3 months.
But this is good.

so glad to hear! :)

nice! i am not looking for more capacity as what i have does what i want it to do and it's already paid for. that i can use it to give the fridge a boost during the longer power outages is really just a nice bonus.
