The governor let a large % of non violent offenders out of jail, robberies up 75%, a huge % of NYPD out sick with COVID-19. Governor keeps saying the Apex has not been reached yet.

All this doesn't sound very good at all...

CDC is now recommending you cover your face when you are out in public to reduce exposure.

I saw a timeline of this virus on Facebook today, and I am not sure what is true and what is fake. However, I believe it listed in January that WHO did not think it was spread from human to human. Do ya'll ever remembered reading something like that?

They also had previously said a mask would not help prevent it.

I think the narrative has changed considerably over time.

I'm pretty sure the reason the CDC was saying not to use masks was to manage the supply. Now the shortage is here and no one can buy medical masks anyway, so now the general public cant mess up the supply chain. Thas my understanding.

I think in January they were still figuring out the details of transmission. They still are working on the details of airborne transmission.

Its definitely an evolving story. The virus is mutating as it goes along, so that's interesting too.

Just a huge MESS -- everywhere, everyone, everything. What a mess this is. Glad it's the only time in my life I've ever seen such.

After a hurricane, tornado, etc....you see it, fix it and move on. This is just so not like that. So sad. No end in sight.

Yes, the story does keep changing. Something over the face is better than nothing over the face. Rubber gloves, also... if you have them. I have been working on making masks today. Got some cut out, having a hissy fit trying to get the pleats to line up, leaving them open at the bottom so a liner can be placed in them. Using Remay for that. We are limiting our exposure to the public. Only going out for necessary supplies: medical and a few groceries now and then, the occasional trip to hdw or feed store. The latter two are very sparsely populated. Hubby has not been willing to wear a mask... so... I tell him that he can wait in the car while I go in to run the errands. No need for both of us being needlessly exposed.

They discharged hubby as he was ambulatory and they have Covid-19 cases in the hospital. They have to outpatient him for phys therapy anyway right now.

The gloves aren't helpful. People don't wash the things and do stuff with them they wouldn't normally so the gloves just help the spread. Makes be scared for hepatitis spread with the things I saw when shopping Friday.

The masks help prevent people who may be carriers and not know it from spreading it. Masks are good preventative to slow it.

Biggest things you can do is wash hands frequently and don't touch your face.
