The reason this makes sense is because it is telling the person WITH TB, to do these things. It is not telling the rest of the world to hole up and go into hibernation and let everything else in life stop.....It is not telling perfectly healthy people that they have to be "quarantined" ....just in case.....

That list makes perfect sense for someone with any type of "transmissible disease".... flu, cold, ANYTHING. QUARANTINE the sick one.....
In other words. if you feel sick STAY THE HE// HOME and get over it.
And if you read that article that @Beekissed posted.... the ASYMPTOmatic people are not a threat to spreading it.... so NO REASON to shut everything down since someone MIGHT be an asymptomatic carrier....
Wish I could "like" a thousand times here..

Peace and love. The truth is somewhere betwixt the extremes. As I posted a few weeks ago, we may never know the truth.

Want some perspective? Go read some history about small pox. Covid is minor compared to the damage wrought.

I am torn. I have a spouse who is terribly at risk for respiratory illness. Bronchitis, pneumonia, etc could kill her, so we do err on the side of caution. However, I do see terrible data management being used to report status, and that bothers me too.

nutters gonna nut, it's just a shame that they often end up killing innocents in the process - if it only came back on them i'd have no problems with them not wearing masks or being idiots in other manners. i do believe in freedom as long as it doesn't end up harming others.

asymptomatic spreading has killed a few relatives and friends by now and made others very sick. i don't know how many more will be caught by this.

when HIV started going around i thought the testing process could have been ramped up a lot more than it was to find those who were infected and get them at least to know what was going on. to put those in prison who would not modify their behaviors, etc. yes, that's legit as far as i'm concerned for a fatal disease. i'm pretty sure you can be convicted for knowingly giving someone else HIV in some places. at least now there are treatments for it which is better than nothing, but i still think that testing everyone no matter what should be done to eliminate it completely.
I'm sorry, "nutters gonna nut" is completely disrespectful. The flip side of the mask debate is if you are afraid or being careful. Stay home, its not my responsibility for your actions.

Interesting you brought up HIV. With some exceptions, the vector on this disease is through intimate relations, affecting primarily specific segments of the population. I lived through the rise of it in the 80's as a young adult.

Not disclosing a positive HIV status to intimate sexual partners is no longer a crime in California.

Testing "everyone"? How actually would that work? My opinion, it wouldn't. No how, no way. Same with COVID testing everyone. Logistically impossible

Agreed with you once again, FJ. It seems that some folks would rather resort to character assassination and name calling than dealing with the facts. HIV is a poor comparison, because if one keeps their privates where they belong, and does not share dirty needles, disease transmission is not likely to happen. IF HIV is to be used as a like comparison, then... the comparative protocol would be to have all males wear a condom at all times.

I remember having to be tested for HIV (both of us) and measles (for me only) when we applied for a marriage license...

that used to be the case here but they have changed those now. they just give you written information on HIV and STDs. when you go to the hospital for an emergency or for surgery they will test you, also when giving blood. they are now screening the blood for Covid too.

I certainly understand the concern of those with conditions and their loved ones concerns for them. We don't go off the farm much and wear a mask when we go in public places. Does it help? Dunno, we are not sick, so not breathing on anyone else that we could transmit illness to. We are all doing the best we can with this, but somewhere it has to stop. The shut downs have to stop.
There doesn't have to be any shut downs, as it has already been decided: 14th ammendment.

Well put, FJ!!! The logic of that list for dealing with a deadly, transmissable disease (TB) is based on medical science. And, it is appropriate. Covid protocol is not based on science. It is not based on anything other than keeping the public in a state of hyped up fear frenzy and causing division. Apparently, the current protocol has accomplished both of these goals.
Here's how to live from now on:
