My husband and I look forward to being 21, so we can purchase handguns. Until then, our shotgun or R700 will have to do. :/
You guys too?! Lol. I won't be going out drinking, I'm going to be going out and purchasing a handgun!
Oh lmfao you Americans and your guns! I could probably name 2 people who have a gun, no.. probably just 1. I went out drinking on my 19th (19 years for drinking in Ontario).

In my family and on both sides of my parent's family everyone knows how to use a gun, and most of them own at least one. My dad himself has over 40, and we have an ammo reloading room, but that's just us. Not sure about the other Americans..

We don't have any guns, and my parents don't want any (neither do I really). I see a lot of guns for hunting purposes but not much else. I think it's all the crazy regulations we have which aren't that crazy really.

Good Lord I had no idea you were so young Lupin!!! :th I have 5 kids, so I've been on the Earth for a lil' while ;)

....But I'm not yet 30 :weee

I don't remember who it was, but I think it was a BYC member....her husband was attacked by a pack of coyotes and nearly killed. I don't remember what enabled him to get away from them. This was something we were talking about at least a year ago  so my memories of the specifics are fuzzy.

I don't let my kids go outside without me, and I really never could anyway, because one of my kids has Autism, and will wander off on us, if we don't keep an eagle eye on him.

Look at what decided to show up at our house less than 20 ft from it at 3 in the afternoon one day:

Wow....I always thought of them as being fearful of humans but I guess any pack of dogs could attack of they were hungry enough.

Scary!

The coyotes here are decidedly NOT fearful of humans. I am on a busy road and the houses are close together near the road, and the coyotes look in the windows! They come right up to my fence. I tried to chase one off that was looking into my fence and he held his ground for a looooong time. I hear first-hand stories all the time. They are a menace. I did not have this experience with coyotes when I lived in a very rural area. They were pretty shy.

Because in rural areas they are shot when seen. I'm pretty sure Coyotes are open season here, year round. Nothing like an extended hunting season to keep a population respectful and shy.

It's amazing to me, that even when hunted year round, the population is still strong. Very resilient, adaptable animals.
