I hate those plastic grocery bags. I even own plenty of fabric bags, but do you think I always remember to put them back in my truck after using them? Nope...:( DH is awesome about recycling them, but sometimes, just sometimes I like to hang on to a few of them.

I usually steal my grandkids for a week or so any chance I get (I hope to get them this summer) and I'm always looking for fun stuff to do with them. Bonus if the fun stuff has a earth friendly lesson imbedded in it.

I found this project and it looks like fun and one that they will enjoy.

The instructions are straight forward and fairly simple.

Any other ideas/suggestions?

I made a necklace for my little crystal ball out of keyrings.

My other crafts using junque require welders cutoff wheels and torches and what not.

If you know how and have the ability teaching your young folk can be really beneficial to their adult lives. Just like learning arts and crafts can teach them how to think outside the box so too can learning metal work and what not.

Thank you.

Only when it comes to metal and canvas. I'm completely lost when it comes to wood.

Thanks for the link by the way. I've always liked handmade jewelry more than store bought stuff. I can't wait to have little ones of my own. But my little brothers are still young enough to enjoy it.

Patrick has a new "girlfriend" now maybe he will sit down and make something for her.

My grandson who is 8 (almost 9) loves to make beaded things... he gives them to every female he knows!

That's really cool! I really like those bags and I'll bet they're really sturdy and durable. I've also seen floor mats made from them. Lots of ways to keep them out of the landfills!

And this... I might be able to do this one. Doesn't look like it would take much skill or strength, lol.

I've got an old 180 mm rear motorcycle tire that would work perfectly for that last one.
