My exciting day.

I belong to a prescribed burn association. It is a group of people that do prescribed burns on private property. Today the coordinator came over to evaluate my property so the burn plan can be updated and I can get on the list for a burn. We also talked about my forest plan and what needs to be updated on it. So far it still looks pretty good.

While walking around we saw a number of deer scrapes, yeah. Also saw a woodcock, cool.

Did some mowing on the field. Now this mowing is not with a lawnmower, it is with my tractor and Bush Hog rotary mower. It's looking better. Now to finish the field and work on the firebreak.

good sense of accomplishment getting things done --I know

we are currently clearning about 55 acres from mostly trees to fields for crops. But we are keeping a BIG hedgerow etc. on the sides. for critters and barriers.

My neighbor behind me has like 22 acres he is clearing and called to find where my property line was so not to take down my monster hardwood trees....gee nice right..HA HA

land is work but I love it!

I had not visited BYC in a long time, but went to see the thread. It sure enough made me want to stay away from BYC unless I have a real chicken problem to talk about. It was at least one of the nasty people posting on that thread and provoking that made me quit visiting the site in the first place. Every time I posted there someone wanted to bait some sort of controversy and just goad an argument or be nasty. So, enough said. I voted not to show up anymore.

My neighbor had a hog killing today. We went over and helped make 3 hogs into sausage. There must have been 40 people there, about half were there just for the free sausage. The rest were helping. He does this at least once a year. It is something he enjoys doing and doesn't ask for anything in return.

I was just thinking about some different things. I know, that can be a dangerous thing. I just posted about hog killing, a self sufficient topic. If I mention it in my "journal" and then mention it in another thread or start a new thread am I violating the double posting spam rule?

If I make a journal entry without a response from a previous entry am I bumping my thread?

Why am I so concerned with rules?

There are two threads I want to respond to but it requires some thought first. Why are you people making me think?

OK, after I read some of your posts I consider what was written which then results in a surge of brain activity. :fl

Reference rules: au contraire; see at the top of the page, a word, "Rules", that you can click on. :old

And I am trying to be nice.

No, I don't think you are, because we talked a little about this and reinbeau suggested that we maybe mention that we did this, in your case the hog killing, and follow that with "I've posted it in ______ section and you can read about it there" type deal. Did I make sense there? My brain is kind of fuzzy today

No, it's not bumping your thread. The purpose of the journals is to post about our day, even if we were the last one to post to it. :)

Because you like the forum and want to be sure that you are doing things appropraitely (oh I don't know how that is spelled!) without running the risk of reprimand from the higher ups ;)
