Exciting news.

Had home raised eggs and fresh wild morel mushrooms for supper tonight. Delicious.

Almost as exciting.

I got a new job. I've trying to get a job in this field, wildlife biology, for almost 4 years now. I took six more college classes and spent lots of money on education related expenses.
Major pay raise.

Does this mean that you will be out in the woods all day??? Getting paid for it???

I would love to add fiddleheads to that dinner, if I could just find some. I knew several good patches when I lived in Maine, and put a couple dozen quarts in the freezer every spring.

Awesome, Dac, good for you! Is this a completely new career for you? A mid-life crisis career change? I had one of those, I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up! Congrats!

No college loan, it was pay as you go. I had a degree to start with, I just didn't have all the right classes.

I will be in the woods a lot. I will be getting paid to do it too. :ya I'm in the woods a lot now but this work will be less physically demanding and easier on my body and the pay will be much better.

It is not a big career change, more of a transition since I have done some of this type of work already. Not a mid life crisis either. It's more like an advancement in my second career.

It looks like I will be spending most of the summer in the Allegheny National Forest in PA.
