I read the header..."Snake Photos" and said to my self...." Self, dont click on that" and before I knew it, I was there...clicking...looking at a pic of a snake in a nest box. :barnie
My son lives in OKC....and has "removed" 4 or 5 black snakes...about 5 ft long...so far from his coop. :th Im not "scared" of them, but they sure do give me the willies!

I'm glad it's not just me. If I found that in one of our nest boxes I'm afraid I'd have to move.
We do have a garter snake who likes to sun itself next a planter in the front garden, but I know it's likely to be there so I just take a deep breath and head out with my watering can, stomp my foot so it moves away, water my flowers and get out!

Oh neat!
That sucks that she's in the chicken box, but I love those guys.
We have a giant Gray Rat Snake named Big Mama that lives around here, she's quite docile. :)

Oh my lord, that is huge! We haven't run into any snakes here, yet, but the paper recently talked about rattle snakes "waking up" now that spring is upon us. Not afraid but don't want to get bit...

That was the smallest of the three. It was only about 4 feet long. The other two were about five.

Great pic, Dac!!!! I laughed about your Brahma hen! It figures..... :p

Have you tried moth balls? I've only had one snake here but none since I've put moth balls around my coop and brooder pen.
