I know of 2 people that have been serious injured because of a horse they bought. (Not the same horse) It had been doped up to make it quiet (long term drug), and then 30 days later, they got tossed. Both could have been killed.

Personally, I think there should be some type of punishment for people who do this type of thing.

This is why I love SS. The support. You guys are great. I don't know about the hero bit though SD. I am just a big softy. I hate seeing anything suffer. It is almost like I feel their pain. You know, I have had a cough for about 3 weeks now. I can totally relate to Princess and her cough. Daisy is stealing my heart. The sheep...... I am not sure about the sheep. I get the weirdest vibes from them.

DH is calling farmer ben this afternoon. My gut is telling me I am in for the long haul though. I have accepted my challange. IF they stay, I think I will document everything here so you all can glean from my mistakes. :D I am sure there will be some.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Yeppers. Scamming is common or else "salesman" wouldn't be derogative lol.

We should start a thread of "how have you been scammed?" re: livestock and see how many stories we get! Selling "culls" seems a little close to scamming people, unless folks are totally honest, and when can we expect that from human nature? Certainly not all the time.

Maybe the jerk would take back just the sheep (or whichever) if you are not feeling as attached to them, and give you back half the money. He might be more willing to go for that. It might give you the cash to deal with the two you have left. Just a thought. Maybe if your husband presented a compromise he would at least go that far.

I've been reading along for a while and I can't tell you how aweful I feel for you and those animals.

I do have to say the amount of support from most of the people here are just wonderful!

I'm thinking of adding some animals to my homesteading project in a couple/few years - just not sure what yet, and I could have very easily be in the same position that you are in.

Like someone said earlier...we have ALL been scammed at one point or another. :hugs
