Sheep love weeds. Instead of trying for a monoculture pasture, I want all kinds of plants, the more the better. So if I am going to have any dandelions, I'll have to plant them in the garden. LOL

You can get different cultivars of dandelion. Some have better tasting roots for coffee and some have better tasting leaves.

I have an abundance of dandelions in my yard (that I'm trying to get rid of without spraying) so I figured I would do some research and see what I can use them for. In my surch I came across dandelion salve and found out that it helps heal dry skin. So I figured i would try it.
First I picked a bunch of dandelions and put them on a cookie sheet lined with a paper towle to dry.

Dandelion flowers have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties, and this salve is perfect for all forms of pain and discomfort. This is especially good for muscles and joints that are sore and tired. Dandelion salve also soothes and moisturizes dry, cracked and itchy skin.
