Thanks all! :hugs

I felt like crap over the situation, at first, and then the humor of it kicked in and I quit kicking myself!

Couldn't really tell anything with the rest of the eggs, the headlamp wasn't quite powerful enough, I guess. :hu We have a good Maglite but of course we don't have enough batteries for it! :th

So I've got the rest of the eggs set up in a "Fake-a-bator" for the time being, in the shed...it's staying around 95F in there at night. Don't know if any of them will hatch but I didn't think #6 would either.

Checked on ChaChi after dark and she's got #6 tucked up under her with everyone else. :D

Amazing! My friend who used to live in a southern state told me she had eggs that didn't hatch, so she put them on the counter to deal with them later. It was so hot and humid, they hatched right there on the counter!

Glad it worked out for you. :thumbsup

Make her do a tutorial page
Thanks for the laugh, Cindi! I desperately needed it as I've had a "flick a booger at the world" frame of mind since Thursday and took it one step further and think I may have flung some humanure at it, too! :hide

We lost Bubba J on Thursday, to the highway. :hit I think he possibly went across the way to visit the new horses in the pasture (he was raised around horses) and I have been beating myself up over it for the past several days. I've been over-thinking the scenarios and constantly beating myself up over the loss of him but manure happens and nothing I've been doing (to myself) is going to bring him back. The numbness (of it all) finally broke yesterday.

Today we went and looked at some Aussie puppies and will be bringing home a little girl this coming Thursday! :D I'm thinking that I may have seriously lost it by bringing home an 8 week old pup but it's what we need to do, all at the same time. We'll (I'll) be able to get her trained, from the ground up, and that is something we didn't have with Pepper Anne or Bubba J. They were both a year and a half old when they came to live with us and somewhat set in their ways. She's the cutest little thing and cat friendly to boot but I think Smoke may have a fit, time will tell! Doc and I have spent the evening trying to pick out baby names and we've decided that it is easier when they come to you with a name! :gig Our choices so far are Cheyenne, Sierra, Indigo, Sky, Mojo, Zephyr and Zepplin.
I really like Cheyenne and Sky, doc's faves are Mojo and Indigo. Her parents are both papered/registered but she's not and I don't care about that.

The Fake-A-Bator produced no more chicks and I'm fine with that. Still can't get over #6 hatching in the trash! :gig The only tutorial I'd be able to do would be one of sheer luck or sheer stupidity for not writing down the actual day that ChaChi began sitting. :gig The only thing I can figure about this crazy hatch is that there was enough moisture for high humidity and the temps was right from it sitting in the sun for most of the day. It's a miracle, in my book, and never expect to pull it off again.

Got my squash and melons finally planted and despite the scorching temperatures, they are doing well, so far! I have a new favorite cherry-type tomato and am loving the Riesentraubes...with consistant temps of 100F+ during the day and nights in the upper 70's - 80's they've got blooms! :celebrate

Well, it's been an emotional few days and I'm drained. Gonna get off of here but will be back tomorrow! :D

:( So sorry about Bubba J. Don't beat yourself up over it anymore hun, dogs will do things like that. It truly stinks though :hugs :hugs I hope Cheyenne Indigo Mojo Sierra Sky Zephyr Zepplin does well for you. I like Mojo too, it's a cute name. They're all cute names, but Mojo sounds like a farm dog that's focused and all about it's business....er...not THAT business, but you know what I mean..FARM business. ;)
