What kind of apples do you have?
Our place has 2 really old apple trees and no-one knows what kind they are. The apples ripen the second week of August, so they are done for the year. I need to plant some more trees so I can extend the applesauce season.

We have a mature, old tree with my favorite apples - no name, sour, crunchy and juicy. :love We have some young trees, various varieties. I don't even know what all is there! Or which are producing. I'm sorry, I'm so out-of-it with the farm stuff. We're even talking about selling the farm and moving to the lake.

DH is butchering ALL the chickens today. (That might take the edge off our desire to move.) I expect to be able to pressure can them. I love having home-canned chicken in the cupboard! It's so easy! Best way to eat old birds, IMO.

We separated out lambs last week to feed out. The early lambs from last year are ready to sell, and the next sheep/goat auction is in a couple weeks. We'll keep the smaller ones back, they're like half the size of the larger lambs!

DS4 is doing great in school!

I joined TOPS (a weight loss organization). I have been tracking what I eat. 1) I don't like what I'm observing 2) now I know why my weight yo-yos and I have trouble losing and maintaining. :sigh: I'm about a month in and feeling the frustration creep in. They say most people quit a new diet in the first month. (and I'm not even dieting!) But I have been walking more and sleeping better - that feels better.

Yay for chicken butchering! I've got some to do - just waiting for cooler weather. If I ever butcher everything that I'm waiting to do - I'll need another freezer, lol.

Glad DS4 is doing so well in school.

I've heard of TOPS, but have never really checked it out. Off to Google!

Happy to hear that DS4 is doing good in school. Hope that he enjoys learning.

I will need to look TOPS up.
My sister has a weight loss coach -oops, health coach - through her companies health insurance program. She said that it is helping her.

I need to start tracking what I eat. I always eat better when I do that, lol.
I need to do something, anything is better than where I am now. My clothes don't fit right, I am tired all the time, no energy to do anything. uck! I have been doing stretches when I wake up and it is making me feel better at least.

Ditto! My nemesis lately is that I've been on steroids a couple of times in the last 6 weeks or so. Steroids make me ravenous and I really have no defenses against that. (sounds like a good excuse to me!)

My approach? I have no guilt!

Pants get snug, have one piece of cake, not two. :idunno Works for me. NOT buying larger pants.

DH helped load the pressure canner with chicken. It will take about 2 hours to heat up and process them.

I repotted african violets. Mostly repotting a tray of leaves that got buggy (fungus gnats). Separated a few babies! All my leaves and babies are in sealed containers on grow rack. I have a couple others blooming. This one is my favorite! Variety is Sassy Sister. This photo is larger than life.
