Daydreaming while waiting impatiently!

I pulled him out, it's official now. I saw so much improvement in his attitude and drawing in just 3 days of 15 minutes lessons. I just couldn't not do it! He was telling me "art is fun!" during his practice time today!!

I'm figuring out that when he procrastinates or refuses to do something, he is frustrated and doesn't have the foundation to do what he is working on. So when he fell behind the class in public school, it was a red flag that something was not quite right.

I found an unused, ugly wool dryer ball this morning. I needle felted it into a fantastically CUTE little bluebird friend.

I s'pose it's time to go clean something then. Enough playing around for one day... I've been talking to my bestie most of the day. We have a really fantastic idea for a product to sell. Her creativity, my logistics. It could be a long time in the making, but it sure is fun to talk it all out!

DH installed a while house humidifier yesterday. It is affecting the furnace's efficiency. Chilly day! He is going to try to modify it tomorrow. There is too much airflow through the bypass so the heat isn't leaving the plenum.

I need supplies for my 2 current needle felting projects. I'll probably start another project that I don't need any additional supplies for. I haven't had an idea or inspiration yet.

I haven't made a to-do list for today. Probably very ordinary day, housework etc. No SS projects going on right now. I may work on the garden plan a bit.

Your boy sounds fantastic.
My nephew is into numbers, doing 5th grade math in first grade. Reading level 3 grades ahead of the rest of his class. The school wanted to move him up, but my sister kept him with his classmates. He really needed the social interactions with his own age kids. He attended the high school math class but spent the rest of his school day with his class.
I don't believe anyone is normal. Normal is just a blend of all the strangeness we all have as humans.

Goats seems to be contained now. DH separated the sheep out. They are so much happier! They are eating freely, running around, and coming up to us for cuddles. I'm happy because I can give them grain and lead train them. Getting the goats out of the way was becoming a big ordeal, and the dairy goat was bullying them anytime a gate, person, or food was involved.

Slightly better day here, I'm a bit mobile this afternoon. Still pretty much crabby and frustrated with the whole situation though!

I'm trying to fray out some old yarn to use instead of roving for a needle felting project. I don't want to order wool knowing that in a couple months I'll have 3 fleeces to work with!

I'm struggling to find things to do. Things that are satisfying, varied, can be done lying down. 40+ hours per week worth of things to do. DH says "read a book"... I've no interest in fiction and how-to books are utterly depressing without the means to try the projects. Plus I read crazy-fast, so in the event of finding a satisfying book to read, it's over in an hour. Feeling very desperate. The CE class is not making a dent in the boredom, it's incredibly simple / self-explanatory. Takes me less than 10 minutes per lesson - and there are only 2 lessons per week.

the strides you are making helping your son are wonderful. he is so fortunate to have a mom who not only understands him but puts forth the effort to help him help himself. and if ordering some wool helps you chill, sit down and get thru the rest of this pregnancy that's not a bad thing.

So glad he's enjoying the art now! Its terrible when kids have a teacher/program that drags them down and causes them to not like something that they could excel at given the right combination of instruction. Kids have a much more difficult time, as adults we learn to go seek out the teacher that we can connect with (most of the time, anyway, it is our choice). Children don't have that luxury! Good for you for providing it!
Good luck with the lying down projects. Can you knit or crochet? Or have any interest in learning? Art is about the only other thing I can think of, though I'm not sure that it would be easy to do lying down. What about books on Energy work or other things like that? I've been doing more reading of nonfiction, but still entertaining topics that don't fall into the how to category.

It's been a wild week. I went to ER late Sunday and was transferred to a NICU hospital because of preterm labor at 26 weeks. It's been miserable! I might be able to go home tomorrow if it hasn't progressed any further. I'm worried about going home - it takes hours to get here. I'm afraid to be so far away from the medical care. Dr says I can stay at the hospital longer because of my medical history, and we're looking into me staying nearby at a Ronald McDonald house for a week. Dr is optimistic that Baby has good prognosis even if born at the local hospital that doesn't have NICU.

I've mostly been too sick and uncomfortable to be bored. DH has been at the hospital with me. He brought journal, sketchbook, etc. The hospital has books, crafts, movies, etc. And DH brought my computer, I have to redesign a website at some point. Haven't started it yet.

So sorry to hear this! Take care of yourself. Staying close to the hospital sounds like a good idea!

I am home! Still stable. Thankfully not on oral medication this time. I'm infinitely more relaxed. And my appetite has come back. I barely at anything while I was in the hospital!

Trying to pick up pieces today. My goal is to take a bath and put a roast in the crockpot. And UNSPOIL DS who spent a week with Grandma. Oh My! How can he get so entitled just 1 week? Tantrum and crying over unloading the dishwasher. Y'know, the chore he has been doing every day for months.... it's suddenly impossibly difficult or something.
