My dog is doing fine with audio of one dog barking repeatedly. He is very stressed out by audio of a series of multiple dogs barking, one barks for 15 seconds, then another dog, and so on. So today I've collected several audios (youtube videos) of a single dog barking. I'm playing each dog until he doesn't respond and then switching. So far he is tolerating 4 different dog barking audio loops. I plan to gradually add more and to reduce how long I play each for until he can tolerate audio of multiple dogs barking.
I increased the volume today. He seems to do better with a habituation protocol than a desensitization protocol, so I'm going with full volume. I'm using a bluetooth speaker so he can listen to the barking dogs in a different room and I can retain a bit of my sanity and hearing ability.
This makes me feel productive while I'm writing.
