I have to downsize our stuff. I am feeling buried, even though we do not have all that much. Still, much of it is never used, and just sits there, collecting dust, getting in the way, and creating more work for me everyday.

I have my unused china listed on CL, as well as the massive wooden desk that never gets used.
And the awful mini skirts that my baby was given, are on Freecycle.

Giving my unused silver pieces to my 12 year niece on her birthday in June. She adores silver, and loves to take care of it.

I also put my stack of Remnant (www.charityministries.org ) magazines and sermon CDs in the free section of CL.
If they do not go by the end of today, I will take them to church and let the teens go through them.

What are you getting rid of today?

I am packing up unused beek equipment for a friend to use.

I mailed a package of good books dd can use for homeschooling for the grands. Book topics included nutrition, psychology, algebra, math, and science.

TR took a couple large bags of slightly used clothing to Spiderweb. I recently donated some formal dresses given to me by a friend to Spiderweb as well.

Our mission teams have an annual "yard sale" in the community park next to the church. We have a large box of miscellaneous items to donate including some free weights, cook ware, dishes, and books.

Oh thank you for starting this thread because I have really been wanting to take a load to the dump and yes I promise it is really all garbage. However dh has been stalling so after reading this I went out and asked him nicely if I could load his truck and go to the dump tomorrow. He looked at me and his reply was "No, you are 27 weeks pregnant and hurting". However he told me he is going tomorrow and asked me to walk around the yard with him and point out everything I consider trash. :gig

We will also be having another yard sale sometime this summer with his grandparents at their house and what doesn't sell will be donated.

I finished cleaning my room. I ended up with 3 bags of clothing and 1 bag of shoes for charity.

My next thing is to HELP dh purge his closet. For a big guy he is very sentimental. He keeps shirts because of where he got them or who gave it to him. He has a lot of shirts.

:D

I have one of those electric fake fireplace heaters. I bought it on CL and after tomorrow it will go back on.

My porch used to be cluttered with antique furniture that i collected from roadside piles and repaired and refinished, mostly chairs and small tables. I loaded it all up and took it around to the antiques stores in town. I could'nt even give it away! I'm talking nice stuff. ready to be sold. I often have customers who try to give me appliances, or work-out equipment, or nice gadjets and kitchen aids, etc. I just tell them no thanks, i have enough of my own junk!:(

I havent gotten rid of any thing today. But yesterday I got rid of a few broken toys. Been selling books Ive read a million times, on ebay.

But I put out a want request on freecycle for a piece of plexi-glass.. Because I want to build a solar food dehydrator..

Also been looking for a broken hot tub. I want to turn it into a fish pond.. Much cheaper than buying a pond. And saves some thing from the dump..

So it looks like my trying to add more to the clutter.. LOL.. But I have been downsizing stuff recently. I would rather save the decluttering for the months when its raining and I stay indoors more.

I have one full bag of clothing and shoes, and a box of books. I hate to get rid of books, it's my pack rat item. I always think I'm going to reread them, but never do because I always have a stack of new books to read. The local Christian bookstore is going out of business and I picked up 10 books for 75% off :celebrate So I promised myself I would get rid of 10 that I will most likely never get around to reading again.

nothing to declutter. I am done LOL

last few years my goal was simple house and I achieved that.
my house is super open, easy to clean and enjoyable to live. Not even 1 picture hanging on the walls.

well, the garage...working on that right now. And worst is it it where Tony keeps all his crappola. so it is hard to declutter tools..ugh. lol

For my spring cleaning this year I went through all my clothes. I got rid of 3 big trash bags of clothes and one of shoes!

TanksHill- I can sympathize with your DH- I do the same thing! I have a really cool long skirt from my college hippy days- lace and velvet- that I will never wear again that I just can't get rid of. I also have college T-shirts that I just can't get rid of- from our band uniform, one with a chemical diagram of glycolysis and one with Schroedinger's equation on it. I have keepsake t-shirts from my old Aikido dojo, and several horse trials I rode in. I just can't bring myself to get rid of them!

Yay, I have nothing to declutter! Well, nothing apparent, anyway. I already donated stuff a long time ago. Most of the stuff I want to keep is still in boxes since we're still living in a construction zone. (waaaaaa) But a few months ago I finally donated almost all of my huge stash of quilting materials to a church group that makes comforters to send to the needy. That was hard to part with. I kept all the books though. I hope one day I have time to read again.
