I didn't quite get my whole list finished. For one thing, the farrier didn't come today. In the past, it's been really muddy at the farm after it's rained, so he texted me to reschedule. He's coming on Friday instead. But, he would have been fine. The stones that I put down in front of the stalls did the trick! I didn't have to deal w/mud there today and the horses' legs were all nice and dry. In fact, if I hadn't had to feed CL's horses, I wouldn't have even needed to put on my muck boots!

I was able to work w/Licorice today and boy, was she a brat! When she realized that I wasn't going to let her get away w/anything, both back feet came off the ground in my direction. She wasn't close enough to make contact, but she was told in no uncertain terms that that was NOT acceptable. Once I was done working w/her, I groomed her, and put fly spray on her.

I got most of my chicken house done. I basically need to cut just a few more boards, then finish nailing it together. I'm planning on getting that done tomorrow, then I'll paint it. Since my hay shelter isn't done, I'm not going to the hay auction, I should have plenty of time to finish it. Then on Wednesday, I can put on the hinges, put up the fence I have to divide to broody area and put it in there. Then on Thursday, I'd be able to take the chicks out!

I'm coming up w/a schedule for working in the garden. Every day, I'm doing 1 row of my tomatoes as well as one other row. That way, I'll have the whole thing done every week. I did that today, and it worked quite well. Then, I finished marking out the orchard. Tomorrow, I'll work on spreading what I cleaned out of the goat pen in there. I'm hoping hubby will let me order my trees soon.

I'm at the point in my flower garden that I can do just an 8 qt bucket full of weeds a day. This should get the whole thing done by Friday, or Saturday at the latest. Then I can finally get some flowers in it.

I didn't get as much done in the house as I'd planned to. I sat down when I got home-and fell asleep. So, basically I just vacuumed the living room, and didn't do any dishes. One thing that I did that is helping me is I got rid of the bucket I was using for stuff for the compost. Instead, I got 2 smaller buckets. Then, in the morning when I'm ready to leave, I take the bucket out, dump it, and rinse it out. I take it in when I get home. And, if I have to, I stick the other one outside in the evening. I have way less bugs now!

The brooder is cleaned out, but I didn't bring it in yet. I don't know that I'm going to get anything from these duck eggs. If I don't, I'm not going to worry about getting ducks this year. Instead, I'll wait until next year and just grab some ducklings to raise. If I really wanted ducks this year, there's a duck hen that should be hatching eggs out this week, but I think I'd rather wait.

Hubby's in the kitchen making a mess right now. I'm waiting for him to get done. Once he is, I'm going to make myself some potato soup. The potatoes are the volunteers from my garden, and the onion is also from my garden! So, it should be extra good!

It's nice outside right now-right around 60*! And, it's not supposed to get overly hot today. So, I'm hoping to get a lot done. I'm not going to the hay auction, and I'm not going for a motorcycle ride this evening. So, my list for today is:

1. Wash and hang out a load of clothes
2. Clean bathroom
3. Dishes
4. Normal farm chores
5. Bible Study
6. Finish making chicken house and paint it
7. Work in garden
8. Work in orchard area
9. Work on flower garden
10. Feed goats

Starting next week, I'm going to be spending a few minutes every day cleaning up part of the parking area. It's a mess. And, since my horses "mow" the grass in there, I want it to be safe for them.

For a short list, it sure did take a long time! I got done around 7:30. But the important thing is, I got done! And, since I'm going to be super busy tomorrow, rather than wait until morning, I put out the trash and recyclables this evening.

Tomorrow, I'm going to be going to the Nature Center and helping w/a kids program. And, I need to be there at 8:30! So, I don't think I'm going to get on the computer in the morning. Instead, I'm going to try and get my laundry folded first thing. I'm going to need to leave by 7:00 to get the horses fed B4 I head over. Then, when the program is done, I'm going to have to run to the feed store first and see if they have the hinges I need. I've looked in 3 places and no one has had the size I'm looking for! So, if I can't find that size, I'm going to have to go w/something else. But my little chicken house is basically done and painted! So, my list for tomorrow is:

1. Put away laundry
2. Clean kitchen
3. Normal farm chores
4. Help at Nature Center
5. Do last little bit to chicken house, and get my broody pen divided
6. Dishes
7. Work in garden
8. Work in orchard area
9. Work in flower garden
10. Feed goats

So much for hoping to get done earlier! I didn't get done until about 7:45. And, I still have one last thing to do, but will have to wait until hubby goes to sleep. I need to wash the kitchen floor, but that won't take long.

They didn't have the hinges I needed in the feed store, nor the ones that I could have used. So, I nailed the one part shut temporarily. And on the way home, I ran over to TSC and got some hinges. So, I'll be putting them on tomorrow. The broody pen is divided, and the house is in there. So tomorrow, the chicks will be going out to the farm.

I'm giving my eggs until Sunday. I honestly doubt that I'm going to get anything-especially since the duck hen that started sitting on eggs just a couple of days after I put these in the incubator hatched out 9 ducklings. PT and I rounded them up, then I had to catch the momma (not an easy task), and put them where they should be safe. If I wanted to, I could take some of these ducklings home, but I'm not going to. I just don't have the time to mess w/them. I will be putting one last batch of chicken eggs in there hopefully some time next week.

Tomorrow, I'm helping at the Nature Center again. And, I'll be leaving even earlier. For one thing, tomorrow we're taking a bunch of kids kaynoeing, so I have to take my canoe. For another, I'm taking the chicks out and I need the time to get them in their new house. Plus, I'm hoping I can get some of the manure cleaned up B4 I head over. So, my list for tomorrow is:

1. Work on cleaning bedroom
2. Normal farm chores
3. Get chicks set up in pen
4. Help at Nature Center
5. Clean field and spread manure
6. Clean up around my shed
7. Dishes
8. Work in garden
9. Work in orchard area
10. Work in flower garden
11. Feed goats

Hopefully I can get done B4 7:30 tomorrow evening!

I might not get the floor done. If I don't, I'll have to do it in the morning.

Didn't quite make 7:30, but I could have. I was so exhausted when I got home that I sat and relaxed for quite a bit. I wouldn't have sat for as long if hubby had gotten home in time, but I got the whole list done. And since I'm not helping out at the Nature Center tomorrow, I'm hoping I can get home real early. Right now, I'm not 100% sure of what all I'm going to be able to do. We could get some T storms, so it's all going to depend on that. If I can, I want to leave early again-especially since the farrier is supposed to be there at 9:00, so I'm going to make my list tonight again. Any thing w/a * next to it is dependent on the weather.

1. Normal farm chores
2. Farrier
3. Try to get some boards up for the roof of my hay shelter to keep the tarp from sagging in the rain
4. Groom Stormy
5. Work w/Misty, and ride her for a bit *
6. Work in garden*
7. Work in orchard area*
8. Work in flower garden*
9. Feed goats
10. Dishes
11. Work in basement

I manged to get all the outside stuff on my list done-except for the farrier. He forgot he rescheduled for today, and never showed up. I worked in the garden, the orchard area and the flower garden B4 I left for the farm. And while I was waiting for the farrier, I did a little extra at the farm. I did some cleaning in the parking area, so one part is now safer. And, I rode Misty for a bit. I didn't try to do too much since no one else was at the farm, so I just rode her for a bit. And, I got done everything basically just in time.

I rode thru some rain to get home. By the time I got home, it had stopped raining. I got my wet clothes off, grabbed just a small bite to eat, then went out and fed the goats and started doing some more in the flower garden. I had hoped to get it all done. But, it started to rain again, so I dumped the weeds in the goat pen, then came in the house. I need to do the dishes, and work in the basement for a bit, but I'm not in a big hurry. I'm thinking of taking a nap.

It stopped raining again, so I went out and worked in the flower gardens. It took longer than I was expecting it to take, but I got er done! And, I put the few flowers that I had in the flower garden! Of course, there's room for way more, but I don't know if I'll be able to get any or not.

I also had a few leftover vegetable plants. Hubby was going to plant them in his section of the garden, and never did. So, I put them in the orchard area. I have a couple of sweet taters that sprouted, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do w/them.

I've had almost all of my vine crops come up-including the one type that hadn't come up. I put extra seeds in some areas, so I was able to fill in w/the correct types where they didn't come up. I may not get anything out of them, but it will be a good experiment to see how well the grow vertically. Next year, I need to buy new squash seeds. In fact, I think most of the seeds that I have left for most plants are old, so I'll be buying a ton of seeds-hopefully heirloom varieties.
