Today's the day my MC group is going out. If they were going out for a dinner, or if they were going for ice cream closer to me, I'd go. But w/as far away as they're going, I'm not about to go. It would take me at least 30 minutes to get home and by that time, it will be dark. I don't like riding that far at night. And while I could take the truck,I don't want to spend the money for the gas. So at least that will make my life a bit easier. I'll be able to come home from my doctors' appointments and maybe relax a bit, depending on what hubby does. So, my list for today is:

1. Wash and hang out a load of laundry
2. Clean bathroom
3. Work more in the living room
4. Normal farm chores (RU should be home, so I don't have to feed her animals!)
5. Bible study
6. Doctors' appointments
7. Run a couple of errands
8. Feed goats and bunnies
9. Dishes

I cannot think of anything else that I have to do today, so I might actually take the time to practice the piano for a bit. And maybe get my channel set up for You-Tube

Sounds like a nice day. Sometimes not doing something social is more of a relief than going out.

Well, the emu didn't make it. I'm not sure if I'll miss Boomer or not.

W/the exception of the dishes, I got everything done on my list. I haven't been sleeping well, and I'm really tired. I'll probably go to bed soon. It's been cooler this week, and I'm really enjoying the feel of fall in the air. I just hope it doesn't get too cold too fast! I still have a lot to do outside.

I'm trying to figure out how to schedule everything since I can't work as late outside. I might spend less time on the computer in the morning so I can spend more time on housework B4 I leave for the farm, then do outside work when I get home and then spend more time on the computer in the evening.

I'm hoping that I can leave for the farm fairly early today. I want to get done there so I can get home and get stuff done. I bought another basket of peaches yesterday. And while I'd love to have more dehydrated, the first thing I'm doing w/these is canning them. I use them in oatmeal, and figure if I have 14 pint jars, that should be enough for the year. Then, if I have them leftover, I can dehydrate more. I'm hoping to get one more basket after this.

I also have to pick tomatoes again. I've been just making everything into sauce since I didn't have time to do anything else. Today, I'm going to take my bigger tomatoes, and make stewed tomatoes w/onion and celery. Anything I have left over will be sauced. I'm glad I tried it in the crock pot. It's so much easier. I haven't been adding anything to the sauce, but eventually, I want to add seasoning and some meat, whether it's beef or sausage. Then, when I want spaghetti, I'll just have to cook it and heat up a can of sauce.

Someone gave me some potatoes that are sprouting. I need to find something to try and grow them in. I already have some that weren't sprouting in containers. I just might try a couple of 5 gallon buckets w/one tater in each. I'm also going to plant some beans in 5 gallon buckets. I STILL have the rabbit getting in. So, if I plant some beans in buckets, I can move them into my green house when it starts to get too cold out. RU has a bunch of 5 gallon buckets that she's not using for anything, so I plan on grabbing a bunch one day to see what I can grow in my greenhouse over the winter. I'll be making a mass heater in there in the hopes that it will keep it warm enough.

I need to get started for the day. So, here's my list for today:

1. Wash and hang out a load of clothes
2. Put out trash and recyclables
3. Clean kitchen
4. Work in living room
5. Normal farm chores
6. Do some weed whacking for LF.
7. Work w/and ride Misty
8. Pick tomatoes
9. Stew tomatoes
10. Can peaches
11. Feed bunny and goats
12. If I have time, work on small house for chickens so I can get them home

Hubby is talking about going shopping when he gets home. I don't know if I really want to go or not. But then again, I'm going to need more lids, so I just might have to.

Hope you get it all done today! I noticed how dark is getting now. That makes me sad! I also noticed that we have a high in the upper 60s next week! Whoa!

I tried canning my peaches a different way today, and it worked great! I found this idea on the internet. I cold packed them, then added lemon juice to the jars, and filled them w/a combination of water and honey. After that, I stuck them in the water bather then turned on the stove. It was so much easier than getting the water hot first, then adding the jars. so, I'll be doing them this way again.

I didn't get everything done today. I started to feel really tired and went back to bed after breakfast for a bit. I decided that I wasn't going to do anything w/Misty. I just wasn't feeling up to it. And, I didn't do the weed whacking for LF. She has one of those wheeled weed whackers. But, w/her health problems, she can't do it, so I told her I'd do it for her. But, I couldn't get the weed whacker to stay running. I could get it to start, but it would only run for a couple of seconds, then shut off. I don't know if I was doing something wrong or what. So, since I didn't ride Misty, and I couldn't weed whack, instead I put some lime down in my field, and got rid of some weeds.

I also didn't get to my tomatoes today. I think I'm going to wait until Friday. I'll have more time then. I'll do more peaches tomorrow.

Hubby is drunk again, and is driving me nuts. I made chocolate chip banana bread tonight. I don't know how many times he's asked me what I'm cooking, am I making something, etc.

Nice on the peaches! Cold packing is much easier than hot packing I think. I don't really like being around all that heat, anyway, so its much friendlier to me :)
If the weed whacker isn't staying running I wonder if is the carburetor being gunked up from the ethanol in the gas. The BF is always complaining about that with the equipment we have, both the weed whackers and chain saws. If thats the case it will need work before it will be able to run at all.

I don't have a clue! I left a message for her, but she hasn't called back. And, I don't want to mess w/it and possibly mess something up.

I didn't get to either the peaches or the dishes. But, they'll still be there tomorrow. The peaches are in the fridge, so they won't rot anytime soon.

My sister hadn't made it to my parents by the time I had to leave, but at least I got to see my parents and my brother. W/him living in Germany, I don't see him that often.

Hubby and I did go shopping-which is why I didn't get to the peaches. But, I'm glad I went. There was some stuff that I was getting low on, and hubby would have never thought to buy. Plus, I got my lids. Next year, I'm looking to get Tattler lids. We did do some talking while we were driving, and he does want to have his section of the garden again next year. This way, he can grow what he wants and I don't have to try and figure out what he wants. He may not be able to keep up on it, but at least if he starts it, my life will be easier next year.

I'm really beat for some reason. All I'm wanting to do now is sleep. I hope it's just that I've been doing a lot, so I'm tired. I hope it's not a sign that something's wrong. I went back to bed this morning, and am about ready for bed already.

I need to leave the house early today. I'm working today, and need to be there early, like around 8:30! So, that means I need to leave no later than 7:30. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to the farm and then takes me about 30 minutes to get everyone fed in the morning. So, that means I won't be doing much here until I get home. I just need to be sure the truck is OK for hubby to take since he needs it this afternoon. So, my list for today is:

1. Clean out truck
2. Normal farm chores
3. Work
4. Put away any laundry that's out
5. Stew tomatoes
6. Can peaches
7. Dishes
8. Do some straightening up in the living room and run the vacuum
9. Feed bunny and goats and clean goat pen

If I get to anything else, that's fine. If not, oh well.

I am really seeing a difference in the laundry. I went from having the bin overly full and all over the floor to having it off the floor, but up the laundry chute by the end of the week to having it level w/the top of the bin to now being below the top of the bin! There's still some stuff in there that needs to be sorted thru and gotten rid of, but there's not a whole lot. I'm hoping that by the end of the month I'll just have normal laundry left!
