Right now, I want spring.

I probably shouldn't have taken that nap. I would have finished earlier than I did, but I needed to lie down for just a few minutes. And of course, doing that gave me a second wind, hubby wasn't home, so I just kept on working. But, I got more done!
I started the morning by working in the basement while I was making sure the fire was going to burn. I can see a difference! Then, I went up and worked in the bedroom. And, I can see a difference in there as well. Since they hadn't collected the trash yesterday, I decided to put out what I had. That didn't take long, but I figured I might have a lot to put out this week, so I wanted everything out that I could get out. I also practiced the piano some. This might sound crazy, but I'm working my way thru all my beginner books. And, I think it's actually doing me some good. The "songs" can be so weird, that it's really forcing me to work on the figuring. Plus, in the one, it gave the option of playing in different keys. I'll admit to not being the greatest at transposing, so this is helping. And, I made some no bake cookies. I needed something to snack on and these are easy.
At the farm, I got everyone fed, and didn't have anything to do. So, I finished cleaning out my truck. And, I washed the rest of the windows inside as well as washed all of them outside! I even checked my fluid levels. I needed both oil and power steering fluid. They're now both topped off! I had stuff that needed to go in the house, so I left that on the front seat. After feeding Stormy, I headed on home. Got the fire going, ate a late lunch, and had to crash. I was tired.
By the time I got up, it was close to 4:00, so I headed out and fed the animals, then worked on wood. I split up a big piece of sassafras, and sorted out a whole bunch of stuff that doesn't need to be cut. I split what needed to be split. I also have a small pile of stuff that needs to be cut up. They're calling for more snow and rain tomorrow night into Saturday. Some of this is pretty dry, so I'm planning on topping off the wood holder tomorrow. And, if possible, I also want to put more wood in the wood shed.
Once I came in, I did a bit of work in the living room, did some more in the bedroom, did a bunch of dishes, then got my shower. Then, I heated up some leftovers, and figured I did enough for today. Tomorrow is going to be another busy day.

I have a lot of it to cut an split, and there's more in the woods if I want it.

I'm beat! I started the morning by doing more of the basement. I am now able to sit in my comfy chair in front of the fire! Then, I went and worked some more on the bedroom. I'm able to see more of the bedroom and less clutter. After that, I kind of sort of relaxed by practicing the piano, then had breakfast B4 heading to the farm.
At the farm, once I had everyone fed, I decided to see if I could clean part of my field. I was able to do it, but almost got the mower stuck a few times. The first time I did, I had to unhook the cart, move the mower a few feet, then wrestle the cart back onto the mower. That wasn't easy. I dumped the cart-and almost got stuck. Then I headed back towards my field-and almost got stuck. I was able to get it where I wanted it though. I'm going to try to clean part of the field everyday. Then, when the cart is full and the ground is still frozen, I'll go dump it. It took me too long today to get it full, so the ground was a bit soft.
Got feed bag, then started doing a bit of organizing in my tack shed. Everything is where I want it, but there's stuff in there than needs to come home, so I was working on sorting that. Fed Stormy, took care of the chickens and headed for the store.
I got some stuff I need and some stuff I didn't-like ice cream. I wanted steak for dinner, so I picked up a small pack. From there, I hit TSC-got both the feed I was after and some seeds! Then, I went to the bank and headed on home.
I got home a lot later than I'd planned. So, lunch was 2 pieces of cheese and some cookies. Had trouble getting the fire going, but once it was, I went out, fed animals and started working on wood. I got a lot done. Not only is the wood holder in the basement full, but one area where I had dumped wood is empty! And, all of that wood is either in the house, or in the wood shed. I went from having just a little bit in there, to having the wood shed about 1/5 full!
It was dark by the time I was done. I had to turn on the light, but wanted to get that area all done, so I just kept going. It was close to 7:30 by the time I was done, had everything put away, and got in the house. I had to make some phone calls as well. Once I was done all that, I got my shower. By then, I was beat. So, I put the steak in the freezer, and "made" pizza for dinner. I might go to bed early.

I told hubby that I want to go out and get a new laptop today. This one is driving me nuts! And, in the not too distant future, I'll be ready to take one w/me out to the farm to do work while I'm waiting on Stormy. I have a bit more sorting to do in my tack shed. That should be all done this week. Once that's done, there's nothing I can do out there w/the weather the way it is. They're calling for cold next week as well as some snow. I'm also kind of upset w/hubby. He keeps telling me he's going to do some work so my tack shed isn't as cold and he's done nothing. Really makes me feel loved.

I didn't really do much of anything yesterday. It was a miserable day out, and I had a party to go to in the evening. I hadn't planned on staying for the whole thing, but decided I was going to. I don't think hubby was happy about that, but I don't care. I hadn't planned on doing much today but dishes, laundry, normal chore, church and making soup for a dinner at church tonight. Well, I've just checked the forecast. We could get several inches of snow starting late tonight, but the heaviest Monday night into Tuesday! So, I'm going to spend as much time as I can today and tomorrow doing wood. If I really work hard, I think I can finish what I have out there. I'm still going to need more, but at least what I have won't be getting any wetter.

Hope you can get a new laptop and get it set up.
What else has to be done on the tack shed to make it more comfortable?
We've got a dusting now, we'll see what we end up with. I'm kinda hoping it will be a good one.... it would be nice for once!

First off, I need to finish sorting stuff out in there. I needed a couple of double ended snaps today, and had a horrible time finding them.

I need the rest of it insulated. I did some, but not all of it. But B4 I can do that, it needs to be wired. Then, I want to put paneling up on all the walls so it looks nice. The main thing that needs to be done is the overhang. W/the way it's made, cold air just pours in. I have a piece of old tarp up, but it doesn't really do a good job of blocking the cold.

Right now, I'm running an extension cord in to power stuff. But, hubby's supposed to put a lean to on the back for my mower and tools. I have solar panels to put on there. I don't think it will power everything, so I want to have a generator as well.

He also started making an outhouse for me, but never finished. So, when it's snowing out, I have to remove the snow off my portapot B4 I can use it.

Yesterday, I did as much wood as I could but I don't have enough. I had to burn more than normal in November, so I'll have to start cutting more soon. But, I have most of what I still had in the yard in the woodshed. I was going to work on it this afternoon, but got home later than I'd planned, so didn't have time.

Right now, we're in between storms. We got a coating from the first storm, and the 2nd is just starting. This one is supposed to be worse. But, I don't think we're going to get that much, only a few inches. But, just in case we do get more, I have everything set up at the farm so RU can feed for me if she has to. And, I finally made it so I can put up a stall chain for Misty's stall. If we get a lot of snow, I won't be able to close her door. I can't close Stormy's right now because of how the mud froze in front of his stall. I was able to get the chain up for his. Otherwise, he'll he let Misty eat his feed. And, if I can't close Misty's door, then Licorice will kick her out if she finishes first. I still need one more chain, I just haven't been able to find it. I'm hoping I can find it on Friday.

I'll be going into Delaware on Friday and I'll be going in a tack store while I'm there. I'm hoping they have it. If not, I'll have to order one.

And, the blizzard in this area was a fizzle. We barely got anything. We could still get some more snow today, but if we do, it won't be much. So, I should be able to get stuff done outside today after all. I'll be doing more fire wood. Then tomorrow, I'm hoping I can finally get the manure down in my garden. If so, I can then start to pile stuff on top of it.
