Since KN moved to Kentucky, I haven't found anyone that I can count on for going trail riding. So, I've started taking Misty out by herself. I was a bit nervous when I first did it, but she seems to be fine going by herself-at least on this trail, she's used to it. I wore my orange vest since today was the last day of the regular deer season.

Nice! So try a couple other trails. Mine never had issues going where I pointed them, alone or grouped. I used to ride alone right much.

I will, but not right now. This is the closest trail to the farm and it's a bit cold for riding. Plus, it gets dark too early. Next time we go, I might go farther down the trail. Today, I was just too cold to go any farther than I did.

But you did it - and that's great!!

My horses were adventurous - loved going new places! But, back in those days I was pretty fearless myself lol.

Sounds like a nice ride! If I lived closer I'd have joined you, I love and miss trail riding.

Yep, she's an Arab, my favorite breed. A lot of people don't like Arabs because they think they're flighty. Then, they meet Misty and are shocked. She's better behaved than a lot of "quiet" horses. It all depends on the training.

Had a gorgeous Arab gelding once and what a dream! Not only nice to watch but, a perfect mount. He was green broke & bosel trained. I couldn't afford a saddle, so bareback we rode for a while. He might shy a tiny bit on a new trail but, calmed easily and never a bad ride. Loved him. Been tempted to get another, just not until I have the time for one. I adore Arabs.

Have had some nice quarters but, Arabs are my choice.

A friend of my father bred and showed Arabs and when I was about 10 we used to go to his farm for milk and sometimes I'd get to ride one of them. They were the most amazing horses, beautiful and wonderful rides. I loved Arabs ever since.
