Yep, I remembered. We have a family at church that forgot one year, and showed up at 12:00 for church, instead of 11:00.

I remembered. My phone and puter did it automatically. I love DST because its light in the morning so I can see to feed the animals.

Thanks for the reminder. Our computers do it automatically. Our cell phones have to be turned off then they reset the time when they come back on.
I just changed the living room clock. Still gotta find the instructions on how to reset my watch. I would rather stay on real time all year long. Some businesses could change their schedule seasonally if they need to.
This stuff about doing it for the good or the farmers seems like bull$#!+ to me. The cows don't want their schedule changed. The farmers already wake up early - or know how to use an alarm clock. Plus we are on natural time during the part of the year that has the least light. The kids are having to walk to school or wait for the bus in the dark and that can be dangerous. :he It would be safer to have school start later in the winter- but it would be hard to manage that with many of the parents work schedules.

The time change really annoys me. Why don't they just change it half an hour and leave it at that. :somad

Is that why they started it..?? Better for the farmers?

Ben Franklin apparently never had to get up and try to milk in the morning.

I am pretty sure the time change was the reason for the standing room only attendance in church today. I go to the early modern style church service, and some folks pile in 20 minutes after it starts. I don't like folks that are late for service!!! But every one seemed to be on time today.... That will change starting next week...

Ha! I haven't been in a church in years.. aside from a funeral. Glad I don't have that problem!

Though I do remember growing up, going to church and there being no service because they had changed the service times and no one told us. We once drove through a snow storm just to get there and have it canceled on us, first time in 80+ years that happened for that specific building. Priest didn't come in so we went back home.

The farmers were the excuse they used. Personally, I think they had a hole in their heads.
Those old style farmers got up near sunrise, and worked till near dark. This was way before electricity- they weren't waking up to the beep beeep beeep of our alarm clocks. The cattle and the roosters probably would get noisy if they started to oversleep and were late with the feeding and milking by much. Those noises would be hard to sleep through.
