I don't expect religious people to be more trustworthy than other folks because that has not been my experience.

I think the truly "good" religious people keep it to themselves and just live their beliefs instead of talking about them.

But whenever I hear someone talking about how religious they are or bragging about how much time they spend in church or how close they are to God, I give them a wide berth.
So do I. That's not what God expects us to do. People like that remind me of the Pharisees in the Bible. They were ultra religious-but not godly. In Christ's own words, by their fruits you shall know them.

Amen sister!!

That has kinda been my experience too. The more people just live life without lots of talk the better I seem to get along with them. They'll answer questions if you ask...but will only talk about it if you ask.

I don't really expect religious people to be more trustworthy either. I just mean (again in my experience) that those around me have always kinda felt religious=you should be able to trust them without a thought to how they were actually acting/living just because of their affiliation with a certain religious group. I just meant that I think sometimes we hear things like "religious" people molested/beat/etc a child and that gets our attention more than if it was another group. So it somehow seems worse I guess b/c of the people affiliated with it.

But then again...I really need to go to bed. :) So not sure if what I'm typing is even making sense. lol.

yup, anyone who spews about any subject too much from the government to religion gets on my nerves. one note.

you can't just 'trust' people without knowing them and feel secure in that relationship. I mean, real trust, like letting them have access to your family etc.
