does anyone know how to make candles?
It's on my list . I saved up wax from old candles. I want to make candles in Mason jars. Just need to buy wicks and conquer my to-do list firstdoes anyone know how to make candles?
Do you know of any good YouTube channels or any good books or book authors to learn from?it was a grade school project for us, i made a few candles, there was no talk about wick size as we were wee tots and just did what we were told. hot wax and wee tots, i'm not sure how they managed to do that one as now you'd probably have the lawyers and insurance companies all up in your business...
the ones of us who did thicker candles in molds had to pour extra when the wax shrunk.
there was no dipping to make long tapers or stick candles. pretty basic.
i'm sure you could get some good references from the local library or find plenty on youtube or the wider web in general. i happen to like a stack of books to go through because i'm old-fashioned that ways... good luck!

Thankyou so much that is so helpful!!!!sorry, i don't know anything about this topic, but if you do have a local library i'm sure they'd be happy to help you find some books. (i always plug libraries because i used to work at one and i really enjoyed it ).
youtube videos you can search for by going to their main page and typing things in their search box... the more specific you are the better your chances of getting back something you want. like if you just typed in "candle making" you'd probably get a lot, but if you're specifically interested in making thin tapers by dipping you could add key words like "tapers" or such... that's what i'd do...
Thank you so much I will definitely check it out and let you know!!!I did a quick look and found 3 that I'd look at. There are undoubtedly more out there. I'd look at a library or check out a used bookstore as books add up. They are very much an addiction for me. I used to work at a bookstore so yeah.
I put up the links to amazon where you can get authors and ISBN numbers.
