I found an old savings acct. and sent off the paperwork. With my mail forwarding svc. it may be 2 months before I find out anything--like a Christmas present!!!!

T, you have to ignore the treasure hunter offers in relation to unclaimed property and go straight to your state's treasury department site and find the link to their unclaimed property division. That is where I did my search and subsequent claim application for the items I found there. You have to provide a copy of driver's license and SS card and it all goes pretty fast from there.

I searched all the states in which I had lived but only WV held any claims for me.
