Went to an actual pet store last night. I really dislike those places, but grocery stores only sell the crappy stuff around here. The pet store has really downsized their offerings and the only non-grocery store brand I could find was AvoDerm. There was no meat only option, all the quality stuff at least had rice or a grain as the 2nd or third ingredient. I got a small bag of AvoDerm because we are out of food, but I am going to shop some other places.

Javamama,

Try the feed stores. I know that Taste of the Wild is sold at my local feed store. I used to use that brand and I loved it!

I have also seen Inova at the feed store too.

Our local pet store, it is a mom and pop type of store, will special order anythig for their customer.

I get mine at the feed store. Circle F in Colorado Springs. They run out of Taste of the Wild a lot, so my back-up brand is BG (Before Grains). They seem to eat more of that than the Taste of the Wild though.

Tractor Supply carries Taste of the Wild, too.

I just was looking at pet food ratings on line, where they actually give scores. There's a couple of different ones out there, but on all of them Eukanuba only scores in the C range. I definitely need to switch our puppy over to something better.
Taste of the Wild is not showing up on any of the lists I've found so far.

Last time I posted on here, we had just started the AvoDerm for our dog. We were switching from Nutro, because she didn't seem to like it. Many dogfoods make her itchy, so we have to be carefull what we get her. The AvoDerm seems to work. We bought a second bag. Althuogh I am gong to check into Call of the Wild, now that it has been mentioned here so much.

There's so much out there now too! We've had our adult dogs on Wellness for a long time and they seem to do really well with it. None have had allergies though. And we're not sure that the puppy does. The one store 40 minutes away seems to specialize in foods for pets with allergies so it may be good to get to know them just in case. I worked in a vet's office for 3 years, in addition to having friends whose dogs have allergies. I know that Indy's "symptoms" are very mild or even my imagination! But it is something I want to keep an eye on.
I'm so glad this thread was started so we can share our experiences and research.
