yeah, those lunch ladies were terrifying. again, this show was depressing but very good. it's just sad to know how far we have to go. i mean, kids who don't know how to use utensils? kids that think a tomato is a potato? kids who, after seeing the carcass ground up, are still willing to eat it because it looks like a nugget?
but there is hope. with guidance the kids started to get it.
I finally saw it and the stuff I read was inaccurate! Sheesh! He does criticize the amount of carbs, but has to put them into his school lunch menus to achieve the amounts required by the USDA's charts and graffs. Double-sheesh. We have an organization who's aim is to create markets for grains governing what our children are eating. Triple-sheesh.
wow and double wow.. heck i'll throw in a triple wow for Free.
i'm surprised at how defensive the parents are. its not like this is any big surprise...or should be. wow.
i thought the best part was when J was standing there dumping the trays with the Principle and J said that in England he would have sent the kids back to finish to the table.
i also thought it was sad that the food director (??) kept saying that the kids had to like the food.... i know it was a million years ago when i was a kid... but we didnt really have a choice.
what an eye opener.
and thanks WZ.. now i'm gonna be singing about sloppy joes all day
;-)
