Edible plants for Garden Pond

Any suggestions for edible plants for a small garden pond.
I am going to eventually put in a bigger pond later but I have a small 50ish gallon one. I plan on using some of the water for the garden but what can I grow in or around it thats edible?

Ive considered setting up a small patio pond thing just for growing watercress.

Could grow rice just for fun.
