Oh thats awful! My dad is in his 50s and doesn't drive much anymore because of an incident in our old station wagon where his gammy leg slipped and he went right into the back of a parked pick up truck. He had a brain tumour (still has it, but its in remission and has been for 11 years) and his right side lacks some senstation occasionally so he can have a leaden foot.

Oh no! Not again! So glad to hear he wasn't hurt. What a mixed blessing the police was there to witness it all...hopefully this will be a wake up call for him. Sometimes its hard for our older parents/grandparents to admit getting older. At 72 and still working...I say he is doing pretty well! hope they can change his hours to days...sounds like that would work out well for all.

My coop is TRULY hideous. But I like it anyway because it's the first building I've ever built. I still need to paint the outside of it. Hubby wants something that will match the house. BLAH!!! The inside looks like a McDonalds restaurant, super bright yellow with red trim.

My coop has a brick foundation as well and I've weight tested it with MYSELF!! Thing holds up to 170+ pounds.

I think, if I make any in future, I would do what you did and have the slanted roof facing the nest boxes. As is, I have it facing the opposite side where the coop door is and the roof drains snow melt into the run. I'm still on the fence as to whether this is good or not as I just started using the run as a compost pile too (well, a flat compost pile).

I really like your design alterations. very practical.
