Happy Easter, Farm! I wish my taters were planted...... I don't even have my tiller yet!
I saw one of those tree's in a catalog a couple of days ago - I think it was Farmerseed catalog. Sadly they're only for zone 5 and up. I'm in Zone 4 so it would more than likely die even if I kept it in a sheltered spot.Farmfresh said:It is a grafted tree so there are several kinds of fruit (from the same basic family) on the same tree. It has normally apricots, nectarines, peaches and plums, however like I said earlier I think the peach graft died this winter. There have always been far more apricots and nectarines than anything, so it was probably grafted onto apricot rootstock. This tree is a dwarf and about 10 - 12 feet tall. It is also about 10 years old now. I bought it from Michigan Bulb for about $12.00 and it was a stick when it arrived. The main problem with it is it blooms VERY early and in our area the blossoms freeze off every second year or so. Still it is a lot of fun and produces a LOT of fruit ... usually around 50 or 60 pounds a year or even more.tamlynn said:What a beautiful tree! What kind of fruits will it have?
