Out to pasture
SO uses a 22 to dispatch of the critters caught in the trap. Nasty job. Lately we have been catching a lot of skunks.

A friend who lives in a snooty gated neighborhood suggested drowning in a garbage can. It is what she does - trap and all in the garbage can, lid bungie corded and held down with bricks. And it sits over night.
