butchering roos has been on my radar...5 young ones from Spring hatch -- gotta go! Just hard to get a day that I'm home & weather is cool....it's coming slowly. They are in a pen, at least.

Today we got the cut edges of the wood latch pieces smoothed and rounded. I tried the sander borrowed from a neighbor, too slow and not enough progress for the work put into it. So I got a 2x6, set it on saw horses and put a cinder block on it. Made one for DH and together we rubbed the cut corners.

It came out pretty good. No more sharp corners. This piece has a rounded corner and a sharp corner so you can see the difference.

My husband suggested that we paint the doors a medium to light gray. It will match the tin and the color of the dust. Smart idea!

YOU USED A CINDER BLOCK TO ROUND THE EDGES? INGENIOUS! I'LL FILE THAT AWAY FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. WHEN I DON'T CARE ABOUT FINAL CONTOURS, I USE A SHARP KNIFE. OTHERWISE, I'D USE THE TABLE SAW WITH THE BLADE ANGLED.
