Fire fuel for heating - what do you use?

I was actually thinking about trying something in a pot. If I can get the chickens to leave it alone. 3 Months later and I am no closer to their housing/fencing set-up. They are quite happy to roam and sleep in the shed, but I need to confine them some if I want to grow anything. You know what they are like!

I do know what they are like! GRRRR! I have put wire panels over some of the big grow pots I have - and that works pretty well.

I have some netting that I bought for them to fence them in. If I can get that up and fashion a gate of some sorts to allow me access and hope they don't fly over… My little game hen may, the other two are too fat and heavy lol
