Last evening we were out playing with Spartacus, and I saw something hanging from my Strawberry Wheelbarrow, and it was a perfectly ripe Stawberry!! I knew I had flowers and some little green ones, but this was a real surprise!

Most of my strawberries never made it to the house! We ate 'em as fast as they ripened!
That'd be me too  I need to make some jam though...I'm almost out!

I'd cover it in chocolate!
I made some of those last week, with some berries from the store!
I ate the last one yesterday morning! I think I want to taste this first one just as it is.

I am planning on splitting it with my husband as a garnish on his breakfast plate,
IF he eer gets out of bed that is!!

Poor guy, he has a 40 hour a week day job, (after 30 years with the company, they are moving to SC and in Dec. this year he will no longer have a day job. Cuz he doesn't want to move.) Then he is taking a Paralegal course, it will take about 2 years to get certified, that takes about 30 hours of reading and doing assignments, and there is the congregation, study for sermons, and classes, etc. And he has a business/hobby restoring 1970's vintage audio gear. He is one of two or three guys in the country that does restoration of high end audio gear.

So, when he is having some time to get sleep, I just let him sleep!!

But I am hoping the strawberry tastes as good as it looks!

Wow he is a busy man! Sounds like a really cool hobby though. I'd probably let him sleep in too. That's sweet you are waiting to share it with him. Ya'll are cute! :D

I bet it tastes wonderful!!! I am so anxious for mine to produce, but they aren't even blooming here yet. I may have to go buy some. i have been trying not to!!! You have just made that more difficult though  It sure is a beauty! Enjoy it enough for me too!!!

That's a great looking strawberry. In our patch, ones that size and perfection are probably only 3% of the crop. We do get a lot of sweet, healthy berries, though. Mostly half the bulk of one like that! But it will be at least three months until we get any.

Where are you located that you get good, big berries at this time of year?
