I’m hoping that by the time I got the money then the price would be lower so that I could buy a DVD from the excess money.

You might want to look for a television with the DVD built right in... you wouldn't need to hook one up separately and if they're all as good as the one we got, you should be happy with it.

Choco, I would suggest that you go with a player than can handle both dvd and blue-ray. That way you have use for a long time.
