Hatcheries are so sold out!! Most have anticipated ship dates of Aug thru Oct 😱. Gonna be a lot of chickens for sale by buyers who "changed their minds" 🤣

If a hen isn't broody soon I'll crank up the Bator. Hey, I'm giving eggs away now -- might as well sell chicks.
I have one that started on Wednesday, I dont have eggs to give her

Speaking of TP, America buys over 2 million tons of kraft pulp from Canada. This pulp makes up about 1/3 of a roll of TP and about 50% of of a roll of paper towels.

The 50% tariff that the US is imposing on this pulp will cause a shortage and then price increases from the US based tp and pt manufacturers.

Yep. There's gonna be increases. I rarely use paper towels, opting for wash & reuse. But TP ? Yeah, I keep a supply. Only me here, so not bad. Watch for sales, buy a little, that's me.

More meat buying here at very best sales, I'm not out of anything. Plus, I have meat on the hoof. And know where to buy from farmer. 😉 coffee, flour, salt, sugar set 1yr+. Canning lids a couple yrs. Jars a plenty. Own fertilizer produced on farm

Good heavens, my resolve is weakening. Saw some Black Australorps chicks while at one of the local farm stores yesterday. Spent the rest of my afternoon trying to noodle out a setup for 4-6 birds. Promised my self not this year.
Noooo - do it! Next year is too far away, lol.

So much goes into food prices, beyond profit mark ups. There's labor, transport, gas/diesel, containers, fertilizers, seed, and more! Plus weather can make or break a crop. Plus pest damage. Then feed, water, bedding, power, housing, if animal. These are all part of the trickle down.

Intense combination. Hug your chickens, love those cows 😍 pray for good weather. Thank a farmer.
