Hear me out when I say this..... Smoking may not be the evil cancer causer that everyone has made it out to be, but I think we all know it is bad for us.

That said I am a smoker! My Mom was a smoker and if I could take a video of her last ten years of life so far, you might look towards quitting. She has emphysema and COPD. She has slowly come to a point now that she cannot even walk about 5 feet without having to stop and catch her breath. Now I am talking takes about 20 minutes to catch her breath. She cannot even do regualr household chores due to the energy she needs. If she does these duties she doesn't have the energy to keep breathing. I know the end is near for her and yet I still seem to smoke.

Just so that even though I agree with smoking not being the major cause of cancer, I wanted the general population to be reminded that smoking is not good for us either.

I think the rapid trend of diabetes is more hurtful then the smoking at this point. Diabetes in very young kids is on the incline along with obesity.

Diabetes is such a waste for the people who lean towards this problem thru diet and exercise etc. So preventable as is complications from smoking.

yet we all know the risks of what we do and we either take them or don't Like everything in this world we choose our options mostly and it is very personal what we all want to do thru our lives

I don't know...just rambling LOL

I have asthma and I know what it's like not being able to breathe. I don't blame it on second hand smoke either. My asthma is very much under control through medications. Not being able to take a full breath is a terrible feeling.

Smoking is a lot like overeating. You know it's bad for you. You either deny it is and keep on doing it, or you admit that it's bad and keep on doing it or you admit that it's bad and quit.

You're right FC. Obesity is a worse problem than lung cancer. It is costing the nation a fortune and is terrible for those that are obese. I am one of those.
