I am having a problem, wonder if you have run into it before. For the last couple weeks, veggies just seem blech to me. The thought of a salad makes me gag, I have been eating broccoli and some green beans, but that's about it. I have even gagged on my green smoothies which used to be my favorite thing. Meat and eggs are kinda gagging me too. No, I'm not pregnant. All bodily functions are normal ;) except for sleep. Water intake is good.
I am liking beans right now. Not craving sugar or bread. It's a mystery to me. Maybe I'm just bored with food.
The thought of eating pounds of veggies makes me nauseous.

Me too! That's why I bought fennel --to try something new. And I really don't want to eat lotsa pasta or rice or anything--that would be detrimental to my waistline. Wierd, that we are both experiencing this.

Sounds like you are in ketosis...as in you are burning fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates. A loss of appetite can happen when you aren't ingesting a lot of carbohydrates.

Not ketosis for me. I'm getting plenty of carbs. I eat them, I just don't crave them. If I was craving them then would signal something being wrong for me, like candida.
I'm wondering if it's just mental - with nothing being in season right now. Even the organic veggies seem just...lacking in appeal. I'm also tired of being in the kitchen for children who never stop eating.(They have all been on growth spurt binges lately, and they each have different palates) I don't know how to fill them up. It's exhausting!
MTN, I hope you enjoy the fennel. That is one flavor I can't do. Along with basil.

Maybe you just need to change things up?

Can you revamp your smoothie? and change up your salads...do something different?

Maybe more cooked or more raw, depending on what it is that you are tired of.

Plus if you are still eating refined carbs, maybe cut them out so that you are hungry for your veggies.

I know that I go in spurts of eating the same thing over and over until I get tired of it and I have to change things up a bit.

Also when I first started with the increased veggies, I would literally have to choke them down and it was unpleasant because I was never a veggie eater. But I adjusted and now I thoroughly enjoy my varied diet.

I am sure Free will come a long and have some better suggestions!

As a vegetarian I have had that experience.
So, I will go to a nice restaurant or creative bistro and order a fancy vegetable dish. I will eat very little prior and order nothing else but water. It is usually prepared more elaborately than I do and gets me inspired all over again with possibilities.
Recently mushrooms sauteed in gewurztraminer wine served in a silver bowl did it for me, lol!
Another time I indulged in Roquefort stuffed jumbo olives.

I will read bistro menus online for odd unusual salad ingredients and attempt to replicate. Sounds like you are missing the fun and adventure with veggies.

:) Just so ya know - I am not on the low carb train. Not gonna happen. I know how to balance them, but I'm not cutting anything. ;)
I think you guys are right - I just need something different. As I was pondering things, I realized when the train went off tracks. A few weeks ago I got some red peppers. Hadn't had one in awhile and it sounded good. But when I ate a piece -ugh! It tasted awful! Like it had petroleum in it. I think it scared me out of buying veggies at the grocery during the winter. Then I got some bad kale and took a big gulp of nasty smoothie.
I really want fresh cucumbers and summer veggies. And strawberries. Mmmm. Strawberry rhubarb sauce on cheesecake sounds good.

I recently saw what the price of peppers is and I am sooo glad that I froze so much and dehydrated the rest. I took a nice sized bag of the dehydrated ones to the folks back east too. Then I showed mom how to soak them to use in her recipes. Those pieces of red peppers can make a dish look so much more appealing and they add a lot to the taste too.
Makes me think, I should send some to my DS and DB. I am sure they too will appreciate them.
