*buuurp*

I just got in from milking Mya, graining the doelings, buck, and pregnant Ginger, and feeding the pigs. Trekking out in the blizzard, getting blown off the path a few times....wait a minute, there was no path, only drifts.

I bet with my dh that the pigs would come out of the house to eat in the blizzard. He said they wouldn't, because they don't come out when he feeds on Sunday mornings. Tee-hee. I knew they'd come out for me. I had moldy cheese trimmings for them.

They did. I won. He has to do the dishes. Wait. He always does the dishes. Drats. If he'd won the bet, I'd have to do the laundry. Wait.... :p

I fortified myself for the long trek across the long, narrow pasture (remind me WHY I put the pigs so far away???) with a totally deep fried meal. I was out of control tonight. Blame it on the weather. We had chicken nuggets, batter fried broccoli florets (yum!), dh had french fries and I had fried yucca, we both had a few onion rings, and for desert, two slices of apple fritter....the dogs got the other slices. We were too stuffed. Urp. 'Scuse me!

I washed it all down with the last of the ginger chai soda. Gotta make some more of that, it was so refreshing. Next batch, half the sugar, and I'll report on whether the yeast had enough to eat.

Abbs, before you know it, we will be begging you for your pressure-canned meal recipes! Hey, you can get a decent Presto for about $70, ya know....

Hey Free! Dinner sounds yummy! Glad you made it through the storm and safely back to the house. How deep did it get out there?

*beams* I will soon! It's mostly financial and timing.

I really do want to do it. Explosions included.

hehehe. Thanks :)

I really am not too much a chicken but new things are new things.

For reals soon though. :)

My family likes to buy me things on birthdays for some reason and I let them, greedy thing that I am.

Start watching for free canning jars!

We don't have too much snow, but it is hard to tell since it is snowing sideways....

If you yard sell, you will find them. We went to an auction and mom bought 60 quarts for 7 bucks I think.

Canning is fun! Once you do a few loads, the fear goes away. I remember my dad was the first to can anything, he did a few loads of green beans. I tried a few and decided I absolutely HATE canned green beans, but wasn't scared of home-canned food. :3

Go nuts! :D
