DH and I watched those episodes also..yeah, they definately pick people for entertainment value..or in my honest opinion lack there of...they were lucky to handle what they did..not knowing anything, so frustrating to watch, the whole time your thinking "why are you doing it that way-what are you thinking"...Like to watch shows where people actually know what they are doing...when we do watch them

I watched it when it was on PBS years ago. I liked parts of it, but I agree with classicalmuse, it seemed like it was cast to make controversy like most other reality TV shows. Maybe if DIY gets good ratings from it, they might try to make more homesteading types of shows.
